Exact same problem with my old VW after consulting with mitchel broken wires , = wiring exposed to the elements oxidation from professor mitchel. Another great find Eric in the jungle of car wiring .
Before watching the video, my first thoughts were it's nice when not having to deal with electronic problems and diagnosing things and you can get on with fixing a purely mechanical issue. But of course there's no pull handle and cable, it's more luxurious to push a button instead of pulling a lever and over complicate things.
In the rust belt it’s common for the little pull tabs in the floor to just rot right off and either not able to pull the cable or salt gets in from your boots and the cable doesn’t move either which is a job and a half pulling the carpet to replace the cable. Not a euro fan but a lot of euro cars have the push on the opposite side of the gas door to open and a little actuator pin to lock with key fob worst case with those peel the inner carpet inside the trunk by the gas door and easy to get at. They all have their problems.
The good thing here is it was neither an electronic issue or a mechanical one. I hate dealing with electronics, ,automotive computers and modules suck eggs, it's a whole lot easier dealing with a plain old electricity issue like Dr. O had here.
Hey Eric Mrs. L makes a nice lunch for you I like your videos also I think the kitchen is very nice you are lucky to have a great woman in your life she is wonderful

Exact same problem with my old VW after consulting with mitchel broken wires , = wiring exposed to the elements oxidation from professor mitchel. Another great find Eric in the jungle of car wiring .
First time I've seen Misses O's new kitchen! Wow , it's nice. Dr.O., you did a great job on that TC. Man, wish you lived near me. I'd make you rich.
Completely unrelated to this video. I did my first rear brake caliper job from watching your channel. You are the best to watch.
Before watching the video, my first thoughts were it's nice when not having to deal with electronic problems and diagnosing things and you can get on with fixing a purely mechanical issue. But of course there's no pull handle and cable, it's more luxurious to push a button instead of pulling a lever and over complicate things.
A steel cable could also have a similar issue. This is one time where the circuit is so simple, it is a moot point honestly.
And put the damn Switch on the door so if some wires in the door breaks, you wont be able to full your tank
The good thing here is it was neither an electronic issue or a mechanical one. I hate dealing with electronics, ,automotive computers and modules suck eggs, it's a whole lot easier dealing with a plain old electricity issue like Dr. O had here.
I can remember pulling the License Plate down to get to the Gas Cap…..😲😬😂
Eric, your videos NEVER disappoint! Hope your holidays are awesome.
That Towncar is in great shape overall.
Wow a full kitchen in the shop now! Recent addition I guess?
always nice to see Mrs. O make an appearance in one of your videos. Adds some "Wow Appeal" to the show.
Hey Eric Mrs. L makes a nice lunch for you I like your videos also I think the kitchen is very nice you are lucky to have a great woman in your life she is wonderful
Very nice upgrade on the kitchen. No more cooking from a hotplate lol. Looks just like kitchen in a house. Another great video Eric.
Very interesting, as always. What I've realized while working on my vehicles is that what ever you are trying to fix or get at it always seems to be at the worst spot and covered in rust or the green crusties. Wishing you and yours a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
Eric , great video on finding wire break, also nice kitchen set up for Vanessa to make your breakfast and lunch. Happy wife, great life.
Good GOD, what a beautiful kitchen makeover!
Stellar repair video Eric as always and I've been checking in daily but it was Christmas..
Happy New Year kids!
For a moment there I thought we went to video of your kitchen at home.. you must have the nicest shop/home kitchen around . Great video
Santa did a great job on that kitchen, you guys must have been very good this year. I got a lump of coal again :)
The new Kitchen/office looks very KOOL! Good job Dr. O. Very nice.
Word has it that when the grinch takes a dump it is the green crusties!
Awesome Words of Wisdom ,,,,, Always stay away from other shop drama.......
Happy Holidays to your family Eric! I just picked up a 65SL light from Astro (not a sponsor!) which has been really nice to replace my Walmart special LED work light.
South Main Auto Repair and Kitchens. That's the nicest shop kitchen I've seen!
