I have one set of Coil Sumo Springs on my 2010 Ford Ranger, The front coil is big enough to fit 3 in the top, middle and bottom so going to have a test this weekend over pot holes etc.

I always watch your videos twice (or more). They are chock-full of good info.
I also like that you have a science background and a lifetime of experience testing "s@#$". That allows us viewers a methodological understanding from your knowledge and practical experience. Good Job !!
Your videos are also entertaining and a pleasure to watch - great editing !! Thanks

I put SumoSprings (SSR-312-47) on the rear of my Ram 2500 Power Wagon. They made an unbelievable difference in stability and control when towing my 7000lb trailer. No difference in unloaded ride because they only contact the axle when loaded. From that experience alone I can highly recommend them.

Amazing how something so simple to install make a big improvement in the vehicles handling.

I put the sumo spring bump stops on the front axle my 2022 F-450 getting ready to install the super spring super sway stops on the rear axle also.

I thought about the front bumper stop units, but trying the coils since we don’t have a heavy front load.

Thanks for the video Jerry. The 1195's for my F-250 were not nearly as easy to get on. Whew!

I went the measurement route vs suggested model. Glad I did. Coils had compress over a half an inch over time.

I was just thinking about the coils for the front end of my F150 1/2 ton, but I am not sure yet. I did install sumo springs on the trailer and I also replaced the oem rear bump stock on the back of the truck, ( which made a big difference on the truck squatting when the trailer is connected). I have a trip coming later this month from KY to NY. I guess that will be my test to see if I think I might need the front end coil springs. Thanks for the info.

They made a difference. The Big Bang is still there when we hit the big holes and bad bridges, but settles almost immediately. No longer have that front to back continuous rocking after the fact.

Hi Jerry this is Lou. This is very cool. Do you also have a set on the rear axle and if so are they any different than what you put in the front? Enjoy the ride it sounds great I’m ready to put some on my truck thanks

Hi Lou. I would have installed a set of the SumoSpring on the back, but I made an investment in air bags and on board compressor for the rear axle several years ago. If they fail, I’ll reconsider. They make SumoSpring for the front, but recommend if you have a heavy front end load like a snow plow. The Coil SumoSprings are more for dampening than weight management.

Hi Lou, like Jerry said, our Coil SumoSprings help with front-end dipping and remedying sway/lean, and they help enhance the capacity of your coil by up to 30%. While our rear SumoSprings help reduce rear-end sag, decrease vibration, and soften harsh rebounds.

@@SuperSpringsInternational glad you answered back. I have a 2011 ram 2500 4 x 4. I can’t really figure out which one do I need for the front and for the rear. When I search it gives me several options. Don’t know which one to pick. I am pulling a fifth wheel that is 12,000 pound. I think it’s about 2000 on the king pen. It would be cool if you could let me know what I really need. Thanks a bunch I also have a cattle pusher in the front this huge bumper thing and so I don’t know if it needs to be stronger in the front also I’m sure it does make a difference because that bumper I’m sure is pretty heavy

Did you look into Timbren suspension enhancement?

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  2 роки тому

I did. But SuperSpring had a video where they showed the results of the SumoSprings on a large 5th wheel where they tested on a road proving track. Seeing the results from the tests and I was sold. Go to my blog at www.ilovervlife.com/sumosprings-reducing-rv-road-shock-and-vibration/ I have the test results and their video at the end of the blog.

Jerry I hate to bother you so much. But I would like your opinion. I have a SRW f350 with Timbren on the rear. Do you think sumo springs would still benefit on the front of the truck and on the camper? I have a 2022 grand design 310 GK. My wife always tells me to ask you. You are our favorite rv you tube guy.
      Thanks Jim

No problem. We have Coil SumoSprings on the front of our F-350 vs the regular SumoSprings. The latter is more for those who have extra weight such as a snow plow. It helps some. Takes the repeating bounce out of the pot holes and bridges. You’re still going to feel the road. Watch this to see how to install and our results on some rough road ua-cam.com/video/w5HJISyhZaQ/v-deo.html

Jerry do you have some kinda suspension enhancement on the rear axle on the truck?

Jim, we’re running Firestone airbags with an onboard compressor. Gives us the ability to adjust depending on road conditions.
