    I don’t understand why they want to trade Lauri he is very young and in two years the young players they just draft they will good enough for them to be a very good team with kauri.

      I don’t understand a lot of the moves, like the Wizards trading Avidja for virtually nothing. But being an OKC freak I hope the Jazz keep him and do well as their draft pick 10-protected goes to OKC.

      Who says they want to trade Lauri (Talking about Jazz), but they want to see what is offered for him to see what his real value is for other teams. No team will offer that good a price that Jazz would pull the trigger.

      @@thamor4746 Agreed. It makes no sense but neither did the Avidja trade and the Spurs not taking their second draft pick.

    Part of me thinks it might be better for the players working conditions if contracts were standardized at 3 years.

    Love your podcasts! Whenever I hear "trade rumors" I always wait till I hear it from You. My only complaint is when your calling the games on the radio you never say what the score is and how much time is left.

    The rookies I agree. Just play hard. I want to see nba caliber moves though. Just hints that they can be good like Key.

    What is the direction of the jazz? I don’t get it. If you’re trying to tank this season , Lauri doesn’t help that. Young players take a long time to develop and won’t ever be on the same timeline as lauri. They seem like they’re stuck in the middle

    • @imnotmike
      @imnotmike 6 місяців тому

      You don't have to tank for a top pick to get a star player. And you don't have to get lucky either. You have to do a good job developing your players, and you have to give them a chance to play and improve.
      Tyrese Maxey was a 21st pick. Halliburton was a 12th. Giannis was a 15th pick. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was 11th. Jokic was 42nd. Jalen Brunson 33rd. Kawhi Leonard was 15th. Devin Booker was 13th. Domantas Sabonis was 11th.
      There are more players on the all NBA team that were chosen after the lottery than there are players who were chosen in the top 10.
      Lauri is only 27 years old. He's got a good 5-6 years of his prime coming up. That is plenty of time for some of our rookies to develop into stars to support him.

      @@imnotmike that’s a pipe dream hoping to get a star at those points of the draft. The top 5/lottery is loaded this year and flagg looks generational . It’s gonna take years for those players to develop into winning players. It took lauri until 25 to figure it out. Doesn’t make much sense to pay somebody 50 mill in the middle of a tank

    Klay Thompson is a shell of his former self. I don't think the warriors even wanted him back and are probably glad he signed with Dallas.
    Dallas is now stuck with him.
    He is done. Every player always thinks he can still do it and they all stick around too long and there is always some team that is dumb enough to believe in them.

    I agree to work in your strength, but Hendricks did the one thing he needed to do: get stronger and more muscle and fill out his frame. His photos suggest he’s done that.

    I don't agree that you don't allow your employees think about leaving. Especially in the NBA, I think its better to create good incentives to play well even if the player might leave. I think we all knew Olynyk and Fontecchio were temporary and they played well cause their value to other teams depended on it. I think players would prefer honesty and quick communication but maybe that's just us normies.
