    Gravitational force = GMm/(r^2)
Centripetal force (which makes things orbit) = m(v^2)/r
When you set these 2 expressions equal to each other, the small m, the mass of the object which is orbiting, cancels out.
The resultant expression is GM/(v^2) = r, which indicates that the radius at which an object is orbital tangentially to the central body is related by the inverse square to the velocity of the orbiting body. The velocity and radius are determined specifically by G, the gravitational constant, and M, the mass of the body which is being orbited (for instance, Earth).

Regarding Poppt1's Question of the Week and their confusion:
    1. Throwing garbage into space is impractical because of how expensive it is to launch something.
    2. Peter is right about the junk orbiting Earth, but Jackson is also right about how mass is important in determining gravitational forces. The compartments that rockets eject as they go in deep space does not actually stay in orbit because of their mass. They either fall down to Earth again towards the oceans and the scientists collect them, or they burn up as they speed towards the ground (China actually had a controversy regarding their rocket devris landing on land which is a risk to life; see Long March 3B rocket debris).
i know this stuff because I also had the same question for years and decided to look up the answer last year, but disclaimer: I'm not an expert. Feel free to point out my mistakes

40:10 binary is base 2! (I’m sure others have mentioned this by now)
    Base 1 is a tally system, counting is literally 1, 11, 111, 1111, etc.
Binary is base 2 because there are two digits: 1 and 0. So counting is 1, 10, 11, 100, etc.
Compared to base 1, binary is very compact! 64 in base 1 is 64 tally marks; in binary it’s 1000000. Just wanted to make this very important distinction

First year physics student here. Peter is right. When talking about a significantly smaller object in a stable orbit around a significantly larger object in vacuum, the mass of the small orbiting object doesn't influence the orbit. What matters in this case are the velocity of the smaller object, it's acceleration towards the larger object, and the shape of the orbit. The velocity is always pointing straight towards the direction of movement, and thus "wants to spin you out of your never ending turn" if you will. This is prevented by the acceleration redirecting it's movement towards the center. Each orbit has it's own combinations of velocity and acceleration that keep that orbit stable.
However, forces do influence the acceleration of the smaller object, and could thus destabilize the orbit. The acceleration of the smaller object is determined by the sum of all forces on it, divided by the mass of the smaller object. Here we're talking about a situation where pretty much the only force on the smaller object is the gravitational force from the larger object it's orbiting. Jackson is right that this force is dependent on the mass of the small object, but because of that the acceleration of the small object will not dependent on this mass, as we divide it away. Because of this, in our situation the acceleration of the small object will be dependent only on the mass of the larger object and the distance between the objects squared.
This is also why Peter said that for each distance between the objects there is a certain velocity to maintain that orbit. If the shape of the orbit, and where in the orbit we are, and the mass of the large center object are determined, the only variables are the distance between the objects and the velocity of the small object, thus those have to coincide to have a stable orbit.
P.S. Instrumental in this is that the orbiting object is significantly smaller than the object around which it orbits.
Edit: the falling objects thing is indeed another example of this cancelling out of masses. The force of gravity is determined by constant 'g' multiplied by the mass of the falling object. If there is no air resistance this gravitational force is pretty much the same as the sum of all forces on the falling object. Then we divide the sum of forces by the mass of the falling object to get it's acceleration, which will thus be 'g' regardless of mass. As soon as you get air resistance (or other forces, for example a strong magnetic pull) involved, objects don't fall at the same rate anymore.

"Gravity is a force which tries to pull two objects toward each other. Anything which has mass also has a gravitational pull. The more massive an object is, the stronger its gravitational pull is."
    ...
Source - Cool Cosmos a NASA education and outreach website for infrared astronomy and related topics.
So i think Jackson had a point, and i think Hopcat was confused on this point. This means as long as something has mass, it has a gravitational pull. This includes planets, stars, pieces of dust, and even people. Everything that has mass exerts a gravitational pull on other pieces of mass. It is often times so miniscule however that it doesn't have an important effect.
It's really quite interesting. I think it would be super fun to get a physicist to come on the pod. Answer all Jordan's questions.

So while I doubt they’ll read this, I’ll give the underdogs the quick Christianity rundown.
    - Jesus definitely existed as a person. The debate is whether he was who he claimed he was. Who did he claim he was? He claimed he was the son of God. However that’s a little misleading, as the Jesus is also God. So he is both God and also God’s son. So when he prays to God he’s praying to himself. It’s a paradox basically.
    - God didn’t “kill” his son. He allowed the people to kill him. It says in the Bible that when they are killing Jesus, God doesn’t watch out of rage and is about to kill everyone in the city. That’s when Jesus says “forgive them father, they don’t know what they do.”
    - The Christian prediction of the future is called revelation, and it was a vision that God showed to John(I think?). And yes that is quite wacky.
