This video was very useful and needed. Is possible please do riding comparisons of these 3 bikes. I know they are completely different bikes but just because they come at a similar price point things might get a little confusing. A ride comparison can make a lot of things clearer. Thank you ☺️
Accept the fact that no one will do a 100% offroad all time we use to go with tarmac roads 80% in city and 20-30% of offeoad , badroads.....so scrambler 400x has a good low end torque which makes it a best choice for all (commuting , moderate offroads , touring ,......😊❤
I'm planning to buy a new bike in 400 cc segment. My bike usage will be like daily commute to Office in Chennai city around 30 kms and occassional long drive. My final choices are RE Himalayan 450, Harley Davidson X440, Triumph Scrambler 400x. Which one suits better for me? Any suggestion pls?
Just completed test ride of all 3 and in my opinion all are good. But if your height is 5.7 or less then go for HD440 only.If you are taller then consider other 2.And if your purpose is off road then HD440 is not that great. And in addition Speed 400(not scrambler) is good for all these purposes and the best for city ride, but it look small.
Although I have booked Himalayan 450 but it was because Scram 400x from Triumph has accessibility issue due to seat height. If that came with a low seat height ~810mm, it would have been near perfect for Indian conditions. Its well designed and finished, can almost take it anywhere (except those rare occurences, for which you shouldn't really base your purchase decisions), and weight is also in check. The Harley looks best from front and side angles but they have absolutely failed at rear design which makes it a no. I think the X440 engine is best suited for Indian roads, torquey and yet has plenty of power to do 3 digit highway cruise. It makes sense to wait for Hero to base some of it's own bike on that X440 motor, perhaps an easily accessible Adv/Tourer. The Himalayan 450 at last is the most FUGLY looking bike I ever laid eyes on that I even thought of buying. I still can't convince myself why am I even buying it LOL if it was solely for the looks, and also the weight it maddeding. But that all being said, take it off the stand and ride it and I think it is a True Go-Anywhere machine. I have to say that RE gave a lot of thought to keep the ride height, dynamics, motor, suspension, etc. all in check such that you are barely left with anything else to demand (Except perhaps looks and finish, both of which are subjective and should not at all disrupt ownership experience in anyway). It's a bike you're meant to not park in your garage for show-off, or take chicks for a ride. It's a bike meant for people who absolutely want to enjoy roads of all sorts. It is your true all-rounder, it is exactly what everyone has been asking RE to give (minus some bulk).
Agree with you. I test rode all these three and a few more , was doing so for the last few weeks. Exactly for the seat height issue I failed to go for the 400x and X440 doesn't fulfil my needs. I would say Himalayan 452 isn't an all purpose bike, especially for daily city commutes and traffics it isn't meant for that I felt. To double check I actually test rode this bike twice.
@@anmolkale16 I had a long discussion with the Triumph dealership owner for the same some 2 weeks back. I was strictly suggested not to do such a thing as the default seat is already thin and would change the posture as well. Triumph actually has a thicker option seat for the same reason but not a thinner one. I liked the honesty of the dealership owner.
The seat height on Himalayan 450 is easily accessible compared to others, not just because of mutiple seat options but also because of the seat design (narrow). I couldn't beleive myself that I was able to touch down my feet on both side with 845mm on HImalayan. In fact, I realized that I would be fine with even 825mm seat height. Sure, 805-825 low seat accessory is going to steal away some foam and thereby comfort but makes it accessible right out from factory, and also 805mm on Himalayan means even those that are below 5.5 would find it accessible whereas same on other bikes generally means that 5.7" and above.
@@rishiroger Correct. Reduction of seat comfort means long tour and offroad is going to be short, a trade off. Sad that shorter version of scrambler 400x or a scrambler version of Himalayan 452 doesn't exist..

Much, much, much awaited video, Bulu bhaiya! Mauka mil hi gaya aapko finally. I booked the X440 after test riding it. Loved the long stroke engine. But as soon as I saw the Scrambler 400x in person, I was amazed. The X440 looks better than it does on screen but the Triumph beats it by a mile in finish levels. That's what has me confused now. 🤣
My vote for X440.. No other bike replicated that feeling of meaty pull with meaty sound while the vibe free engine (in peak torque band) giving you a majestic effortless feeling on that throttle. Why? X440’s peak torque band starts as soon as you twist the throttle. Speed 400 vibrates in its peak torque band of upper mid-range after which power and torque roll off. You neither have low end power-pull nor you have top end excitement. But yes you do have a much better top speed if you don’t feel disoriented driving at 155 with engine vibrations and windblast. And with x440 you won’t regret not buying a parallel twin because it sounds and feels eerily close. I hate how single cylinders sound, except x440 and new RE 350 stock (but x440 is in another league).
True about Scrambler. It looks good on camera but was shocked to see in showroom. Felt like the Discover DTSi round headlamp version. Even worse the Triumph big bikes in the showroom make this bike look Puny.
