- This is my Vivaldi Minor Flute, at eriktheflutema... it is great for creative folks for improvisation. It reminds me of the Renaissance times. It is a harmonic minor scale. Going from all fingers down, to all open, and back again will tune your ear to this lovely scale. All closed but first finger up is high do. Erik the flutemaker

What is the difference between the kids minor and the small minor?
Can you paint these?
I am planning on buying one.
Could someone tell me the name of that piece he played that started on the high octave? Not knowing how to spell it, i couldn't look it up.
Hi Jace it was a bad rendition of Jethro Tull's BoureeYou can see it really played in a 1969 recording at ua-cam.com/video/N2RNe2jwHE0/v-deo.html

Hi Cassy, my Vivaldi is at eriktheflutemaker.com/collections/flutes/products/vivaldi-minor I love them! Erik
hi erik! i am a fellow flute maker! i was wondering if you could tell me the measurements for the flute itself and the distance between each hole so i can get the same sound as yours... i hope you understand what i'm trying to say, haha! thanks mate!
The ideal ratio of flutes is somewhere between 18:1 and 24:1 length to bore. As in, for a 1 inch bore, the length would be between 18 and 24 inches. Grab a couple pics and xerox em until the pic is within that window. The one on his site (newly branded the "Counselor") is 17 inches long. You could go with a 1 inch bore, but 3/4 would work too. I'd love to find 5/8, but no such luck so far. And as with anything, check all the notes with a tuner and adjust as needed.
