Love this post-tonal style of Tippett: it's accessible, uplifting, energetic, meditative, etc; while tension remains present throughout, the harmony is so attractive !
This is an early work from 1940. His style changed considerably from about 1960, from about the time of the opera King Priam. His late works, after about 1976, are even less approachable. Although King Priam, and works of the succeeding decade or so, were much feted at the time, it is the pre-1960 works like this and A Child of Our Time that most attract modern audiences.
It's actually Eduardo Ciampi who made the original score-videos of the individual movements (see the links in the video description). I just merged these videos together and uploaded the result. On hindsight, I do agree it's hard to read, to the point of being useless.
0:00 - I. Allegro con brio
6:40 - II. Adagio cantabile
15:58 - III. Allegro molto
incredible beautiful music
Agreed.
such a wonderful composition!
I've never heard of Tippett til today. Thanks for introducing me to something new today!

@@kuang-licheng402 Thank you !
Having grown up listening to “Close to the Edge” by Yes I found it very easy to step into this piece by Tippett.
Interesting work! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! And thanks for watching!
A new way....
Amazing music and interesting piece.
Thx for posting this beautiful piece of the underestimated Tippett.
You're welcome!
very good
Tippet should have stood out more. this complex level is far and beyond what some musicians can even fathom, let alone replicate

What's the use of posting a score that is so low-resolution that its eye-searingly useless?
