Do you ever think about being like some old ghost whose work was once carefully kept but got rusted and unusable as the years went on, and seeing some person from so far beyond your time take such care to restore and bring new life to something you remember building... I think it would make them happy
A tip is to pour the batter into the middle and let it flow out, then you dont get the "spilling" outside the hearts, lovely video anyhow❤ im currently in the restoration of me own waffleiron and hoping to use it soon! Though i do wish i had a sandblaster😅
Also, only add a third of the egg whites to the batter and fold in, slow and gentle. Then add the rest, still folding in slow and gently. The idea is to not lose too much air from the egg whites. Some of the 'lift' of the waffle comes from the egg whites. 🤎
Dude, the moment the first media touched it in the blaster, I could tell how good of condition it was in. Didn't look like normal iron when it's blasted, all faded and grey. It was already shiny!
I’ve never made waffles with whipped egg whites, but when I do fold egg whites into a mixture I find it easier to combine up to 1/3 of the egg whites in first (possibly a bit more vigorously). It makes it much easier to fold the remaining egg whites in gently which means more of the air that’s been whipped in stays incorporated.
I LOVES the sand blaster, it’s like magic, watching the rust and grime disappear!! So satisfying! I enjoy watching life being restored in the MANY items you work hard on! 😊 Thank you!
That waffle looks so good! The maker is in excellent shape. I'm glad that you cleaned it up and are using it. So many older products are being replaced by new (cheaply made) items. Keep the quality made items. Today's products are made to be thrown away so you have to continually buy new.
Great video! To answer your query, don't cook the waffles quite as long unless you like them that crunchy. Get some strawberry glaze in a squirt bottle and you can put it in the middle of the waffles, just add another thin layer on top of it once you're done putting on the glaze. Nice work! Turn your heat down JUST A BIT on the waffles and they'll come out fluffy and yummy each time. Just know, the more you use that pan, the better and better the waffles come out. I'm coming to your house for breakfast! XD
“Darth Waiter” gets a thumbs up. And remember, if you ever do a potato peeler, “Darth Tater” awaits. I wondered about the merengue at first, until I realized at the end you were making cookies! Fantastic restoration, mon ami.

Whipping the egg whites produces a batter that is less dense, creating waffles that are airy. Unfortunately, he may have cooked them when the temp was too high or for too long so they overcooked. This might not even be a waffle iron, after all! Perhaps it is a pizzelle maker which makes a thinner, crispier Italian waffle cookie.
I love restoring cast iron cook ware. There is a satisfying feeling removing all the rust. I like how you filed down the casting edges. Gonna keep that in mind on my next project.
I love your videos and the humor makes me laugh. I like how you grew an extra hand for the heart waffle restoration. Thank you and please keep making videos. I so enjoy them.
This is not an old item... It's not even pitted. And it didn't get that rusty, without pits. It's just treated with a few household chemicals to induce surface rust... And then he amazes the world cleaning it up. 🤣
Always good seeing people restoring normal everyday household things. Bonus: You get better waffles from these old Heavy cast makers than the modern light electric ones.
Tysy my dear, I always enjoy watching your videos. That canola oil bottle... wow, is simply a work of art. It was a real treat to see it. Darth Waffle forgot the maple syrup and the butter! The waffles looked delicious though. 😋 Nicely done as always. 😍😍😍
Excellent cinematography and editing. Love the pacing and clarity. Excellent restoration as usual. These videos are so relaxing and satisfying to watch, and now I must get a napkin to wipe of the drool after seeing those delicious waffles.
This is incredible! My mom has a waffle maker that is very similar to this one, it makes the best waffles in the world. I absolutely love your restorations, great job as usual!
That was a perfect restoration! Oh how I love to watch your sandblasting, it's so relaxing. Despite being a very good cook, I've never been able to make a waffle like you did. This was a brilliant video. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend. 👍🏼
You can restore anything to new condition, are a master modern metalworker, and can beat egg whites to perfect peaks. What more could anyone ask for? 🤩
You can also run it through the "clean" setting on a self-cleaning oven. It incinerates the rust. It worked for my rusty cast iron pans before seasoning them.
This reminds me of when I restored my grandma’s old cast iron cookware set. I wish I had half the tools you do, especially since one of the pans was so pitted I had to give up on it. Still have 5/6 and wish I could do more restoration projects. Thank you for putting the time and effort into what you do.
Maple extract goes woooonderfully in waffles. I put in 3/4tsp in a normal batch recipe and it goes quite nicely. Also goes well with vanilla and chocolate cakes.
Lovely result! ☺️ As for the rust dust, you could probably use it to make some ebonizing solution for woodworking projects. I’ve made my own from rusty steel wool pads and vinegar. It also needs tannin to react and create the deep black stain, so best used on oak or very tannic woods.
I love your videos they help me sleep. so here is a baking tip: When you fold in the egg whites do a small amount first to lighten the batter; so, it won't completely deflate, and then fold the rest gently as possible to keep them aeriated.
Another outstanding video! Where did you acquire this waffle iron and do you know it’s history? Did you add it to your cast iron collection or did you eventually re-home it? Thanks again! :-)
I make waffles about once a week for breakfast. Whipping the egg white is essential! Fold it in gently, don't over-mix. After pouring the batter I sprinkle it with chopped pecans. Eat them right away while still warm, spread with butter and either REAL maple syrup or (my home made) blackberry jam and a little sour cream.
You are one of those people who actually dont click bait when they do this and it is so satisfying thx so much for making me always be able to go to sleep. No like literally i fall asleep to these
My mom and grandmother would both be very proud of your work. I have had these and they are delicious. Thanks for sharing your work on this project. 😁👍🇺🇸
Little tip: when you mix in the whipped egg whites, first mix them into a scoop of whatever you need them incorporated with and then when you put it all together, it'll mix more easily, and you won't lose as much of the air you initially whipped in.

Crunchiest waffle in existence
Yes it sounded way too crunchy... Nutella might fix it but it would have to stay in the fridge for the whole night

this is so wholesome, I know I can't speak for everyone but I also know that personally I would be very happy with it.
If that’s true, then now they can rest in peace… 🪦

it took us just one take...

40 attempts, just like Jackie Chan.
Most of times those shots are reversed on editing plus using the audio of another take.
That or have multiple cameras set up at different angles, and just take the angle that got it. Pretty simple
The editing, third hand, old cinnamon, and crunch from that waffle. Splendid!

@Roblox Gaming Account no no, it’s darth Vader, didn’t you read the title?
I thought you were joking about it being in great shape, but after that reveal! Wow! Turned out beautifully and your waffles looked great :)
He says the same thing in most of his videos, regardless of the condition. In fact most of the time he mentions it the item is in horrible condition🤣

Me: “Hey, waffle-maker, do you remember how to make great waffles?”

Let us know how it turns out!
How'd it go? I've never whipped the egg whites like that, either!
yeah, i've never even separated the eggs. guess it would change the texture a bit.
