  • Welcome to 24K Gold Music Shows!
We’re singing and dancing down memory lane with our high-energy, fun-filled “Oldies Intro Medley 1” from 24K Gold Music Shows. This medley of five 1950s and 60s classics opened many of our shows, building excitement from the start, complete with fast costume changes, projected lighting background effects, and loads of fun.
Starting out the medley is Bobby Freeman’s 1958 hit, “Do You Wanna Dance”. This song reached #5 on the pop charts and went on to be recorded by many other artists, including The Beach Boys. Freeman wrote the song at the young age of 17, and it remained his best known hit throughout his career.
Next, we’re twisting on into the worldwide dance craze that got everyone on their feet, with Chubby Checker’s “Let’s Twist Again”. The song was one of the biggest hit singles of 1961 and won the 1962 Grammy Award for Best Rock & Roll Recording.
The Diamond’s doo wop hit, "Little Darlin’", is our third song in the medley, with grandpa and grandson on lead vocals. Released in 1957, Little Darlin’ climbed to #2, remaining there for eight weeks. It is considered an all-time classic of the oldies era.
The Contours’ 1962 hit, “Do You Love Me” gives us another energetic dance theme song. Written by Berry Gordy, it was originally intended for The Temptations, however due to them being out of town, the opportunity happily fell to The Contours.
Finishing the medley is Roy Orbison’s iconic hit, “Pretty Woman”. Released in 1964, it made it to #1 in the U.S. and U.K.. It’s distinctive opening and driving beat makes it recognizable from the first note.
We hope these tunes have sparked some nostalgia, as we visit that golden oldies era. The 24K Gold team aims to provide joyful entertainment with lots of smiles and energy in the songs we perform!
