- This is my first neck knife at an extreme value. The fit and finish is very good and if I didn't know I would price it higher than I purchased it for.
The blade balances right before the second finger groove.
Buy, Barrow, or Avoid I would recommend buying this knife.

Crkt won the knife game with this neck knife..keep up the good work!
Yeah its a great little knife and feels confident in hand like their slogan for this one.
It's not that great
It depends on the use regular "stainless" is pretty bad. I still enjoy my minimalist and maybe sometime will get a Folts custom.
I have the drop point blade. And carry it scout appendix on the left side, and it rides perfectly fine all day.
The only issue of EDC'n it for about a year is the sheath is a bit weak and has cracked at the retention mold.
I repaired it with super glue and baking soda.
Nice I'm liking the new new tailbone. The baking soda and super glue works well, my result wasn't very nice when I tried it.
Paddy sent me, this is my first video and I will be binge watching the rest starting now
About to get one for on the job edc, i work in concrete so going with the 3d printed gears on the blade for longevity in the wet conditions. Thanks for the video
I just receiced the cleaver; it is so comfortable 😀 I wish there was a customization available here in Canada for CRKT knives.
Yeah eventually would like to get the custom Folts minimalist. Liking the new Tailbone recently.
@@BladeBanter tailbone looks good! I might change the paracord (not a fan of orange colour 😆) Planning to buy all the minimalist designs.
I just picked myself up one today at Lows for $19. So far I’m digging it. I’m going to wear mine on the belt as well. Just a little to heavy for the neck for me. Great review!
Nice I like the knife, with a nice grip too.
Blade Banter
I agree. That thing isn’t slipping out of your hand no matter what is covered in. I also got MTechs version of this a while back for $7.50 on Amazon. It’s a little lighter imo. I wear it as a necker. The CRKT feels a little more stout to me.
Same here, picked one up today. 20 bucks at lowes
Set up for belt carry. I love it don’t know why I didn’t get it sooner
Great, yeah some knives you see and forget.
Got mine at home Depot on clearence back in ~2015/16. Still wear from time to time when I don't want a big knife in my pocket.
The gear version the steel got upgraded to 8cr13mov
@@BladeBanter mine has 5Cr15MoV. Which I guess is bad. Still works fine for what I use it for and it sharpens on my worksharp. I'm not a big knife guy but figured I'd see what others thought about it since I had used it for so long.
@@T-Mo_ Oh yeah still works for what it is, just a nice little change.
My Shivworks reverse-blade or 2-sided blade Clinch Pick is by far better than my CRKT Minimalist spear-point for defensive use in a grappling situation. But it is 5 times as expensive. The same quality is in the one-side or 2-sided punch blade (push knife) with either one or both sides sharpened (the one-sided blade is where the spine on most knives would be to allow you to free yourself from somebody grasping your wrist) the absolute best at fending off a grappling opponent to give you a the room to go to your primary weapon or to run for the hills. But, again, 5 or 6 times the price. The CRKT Minimalist in either spearpoint or bowiepoint has been by far the best BUDGET solution to this defensive need. Note that these are all short bladed knives - in the 2+ inch range and are NOT meant as fighting knives but purely defensive. They are almost instantly deployable if you have them mounted horizontally or vertically on your belt & impossible to take away from you since the only thing an opponent is able to grab is blade - which means a very bad day for them.
Definitely the fruit knife is probably one of the best examples of a pop product meant for something else but a great self defense knife design.
Nice man. Although I'm not much of a neck knife guy I wanna try one out. I fancy the version with the drop point and belly a little more!
Asphyxiate14 I wore it around the house a little but not sold on the neck knife.
I did wear it on my belt a full day and it's not noticeable when I look in the mirror and doesn't interfere with accessing pockets. I like it in that orientation.
Got one for my wife and she loves it.
Nice it's a good knife eventually I'll pick up the custom one.
To answer your question, the hole in the blade of the cleaver is for hanging it up over table. An old tradition dating way back in time.
Nod to the origin, thanks for watching.
Just received mine today. The cord/lanyard on most neck knives should separate if they were yanked hard enough.
I hadn't tried, but it worked to take off the scale to remove it. The Tailbone is pretty cool too.
Paracord DEFINITELY will not separate - it will break your neck or strangle you. I assume this apparently nylon cord is as bad. Use a metal bead chain only!!!
That’s a cool knife
Yeah good size and shape and not a big knife. It really is a minimalist.
Do you prefer crkt knives ? Or are there more brands in your collection? Anyway, interesting video!
Martin Meijler CRKT is the newest brand I've been getting knives from. Currently I have Boker Plus, CH knives, Spyderco, Kershaw, Opinel, SOG, Mora, and even Ozark trail. I have a Firebird on the way and a Sanrenmu.
I'm really just going through brands to find what I like and what they offer. What's your favorite brand?
Blade Banter I think of the budget knives I like Sanrenmu the most, I only wish they made more 3 and 3,5 inch blades. It seems to me that a lot of them are original design, and good quality for so little money ☺
For the rest, I love my Rat 1, I am saving for the R2d2. And the current edc is a Leatherman Crater, a gift from my sister.
Keep up the good work, looking forward to see more reviews from you!
Just subbed you my friend good luck.atb paddy👍☺🍀
Just another tip you should start an instagram account in the same name and post a picture every now and then and let people no you have a utube channel.we all do both.
paddys potato peelers Thanks Paddy, crazy that this hobby would have me start to use Instagram.
Blade Banter I was the same my kids hide now whenever I ask for help .atb mate.
I wish they made a sheath holder for my ocp belt. I want to wear it under my uniform but the belt holder is tiny as hell.
I've seen folks do a leather loop on different fixed blades that could work. Or get a custom one made up.
@@BladeBanter I ended up using the paracord and it's better that the holder cuz it won't slide when I draw the knife.
Nice I haven't worked with Paracord much, that's cool.
@@BladeBanter if there is hope loops in your sheath that's what it's made for. Tie it to your belt first then your belt loop so it holds it when your draw the knife.
I use a small bead chain for neck carry.
Yeah I tried that with a different knife, maybe if I used it in the winter between my shirt and jacket. I don't find it comfortable under my shirt.
Why would you not use it as a neck knife? You never gave us a reason.... also great video 👍🏽
For me it comes down to preference, if I'm wearing over my shirt and a jacket maybe buy under the shirt, I just can't stand being reminded I have a knife around my neck with it moving around, then to access it is slower than at my waist.
@@BladeBanter fair great points. Thanks
I didn't get the belt loop with mine guess I will make one. Wonder if they would send me one.
Could always ask. That's the main reason I got that one. Because of the belt attachment.
@@BladeBanter Really like the knife have to call tomorrow and see
@@rodneypearson6986 Yeah that's the most comfortable way I've found to carry it and not be noticable.
@@BladeBanter you where right great customer service sending sheath belt loop and hardware wow. thanks man
Great glad everything got settled.
I prefer mine as a neck knife
Nice, for me I tried and don't like it moving around under my shirt. The new tailbone is pretty cool too.
Oh! Then why have a spew?
? Are you saying the Spew should be the belt carry?
Yeah it's interesting too as the Wharncliffe model had a different handle.
Left side carry huh?
? Right hip on this one, but left works too.
I have mine tied into my boot laces as a boot knife
Nice, I can see that being a good way to carry it too.
I compliment your review, but not so much the knife. If they would offer it in something other than pressed gum wrappers, they might rule the world in "neckers".
The custom comes available every so often in GP Knives. I think about $220 for CPM154. I need to redo this video at some point
And whats it for rabbit skinning its soo lil
Your tool your purpose. Sure or a box for me.
@@BladeBanter i like it i use a nakura atm its a korean make very good but a bit big for bunnys this looks perfect
@@weirdscience8341 Nice might need to check that out.
If it isn't fixed...it's broken.
What's your favorite fixed blade?
@@BladeBanter as for value I favor esee and ontario/okc due to product, warranty, company and price = value. Though I do own a few high end knives, Randall being my most costly...I still tend to go with one from the first two companies mentioned.
Great thanks for sharing.
just bought one 32dollar
Nice check out the Tailbone too.
Good knife but unless you have a small belt you're not going to be able to belt carry which sucks.
True I think the one I had in the picture was a 42 mm buckle not sure on the belt size. It's great there is the option provided.
