A Bobcat Love Story - The Purrfect Match?

- How to Introduce Two Bobcats ... Max and Mary Ann seemed like a purr-fect match for each other, so we decided to take the steps necessary to safely introduce the two of them. Both cats were fixed (we DO NOT breed at Big Cat Rescue) then we moved Mary Ann to the other section of Max's enclosure so they could "date" for a few weeks and get used to one another without having any contact. Then after a few weeks and many reports from staff and volunteers that the two of them were getting along very well we decided to introduce the pair! :)

I get the impression that if this works out and those cats spend their lives together, despite being significantly smaller, Mary Ann will be the Boss Bobcat.
Yes, for as long as they enjoy each other's company we will keep them together. LOL, yes, little MaryAnn seems to 'rule the roost' in that relationship.
Orbs only weighed 6 lbs. She terrorized Auggie Doggie who weighed 60 lbs & Paws who weighed 26 lbs. She also beat up a German shepherd & she & Paws would terrorize Rottweilers & Doberman Pinschers.

I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see "my baby Max" living such an active life and now he has a companion as well! I raised him for 9 months while the legal action was going on and it was very hard to say goodbye. He was a very playful kitten so it must be great for him to have a friend to frolic with that can put up with his sharp little...well, medium teeth. He also has always been a big showoff and I am so grateful to Big Cat Rescue for giving him such a good home. Hope the bobcat farm that sold him to the guy in Rhode Island gets shut down!

I noticed that Max and Mary Ann seem to have different markings. Are they two different subspecies of Bobcat or is it just a case similar to the tabby markings of house cats? Whatever the situation, it was funny the way the one kept turning its backside toward the other. I know this was so they could get to know each other's smell, but it was still pretty funny to me.
I think Max is one smitten kitten! And Mary Ann is ADORABLE! I hope all goes well and they can stay together forever.
Seems most cats don't get along as friends unless they were raised together. But it's great if they can. Good luck.

They were soul mates.
When one died...the other one was so heart broken it died a short time later =(.
But these guys are young so they might like having a friend to play with.

Even though Mary-Ann is quite a bit smaller then Max, she obviously isn't taking any sh*t from Max. She seems more then able to hold her own.

Bobcats are so beautiful. I have heard that they live in Southern Indiana but I have yet to see one. I am not saying they don't live here. After all, I am sure they avoid humans whenever they can. Nevertheless, it'd be amazing to see one from a safe distance.
Bobcats can be found all over the United States and Southern Canada. It is difficult to see one in the wild because they are pretty illusive and will normally hide or run off if humans are around.
