- Few bureaucrats have the courage to stand out from the norm and one such officer is Ms. Rohini Sindhuri, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Karnataka cadre, 2009 batch. She secured 43rd rank in the Civil Service Examination (UPSC) and has has been working in various departments in her career as an IAS officer. She has displayed her mettle in setting up a system wherever she goes and had launched a drive to provide individual toilets to over 1.02 lakh households during 2014-15.
When she was posted as district collector of Hassan n July, 2017, she successfully and meticulously organised the Mahamastakabhisheka, the ceremony of anointing the 57-foot monolithic statue of Bahubali at Shravanabelagola. She also launched Spandana, an online grievance redressal system which helps in maintaining transparency,
She is popularly known as a task master as well as a bold officer who is unwilling to buckle under pressure but rather believes that positive transformation will slowly but steadily roll-in. Her talk on “To Ace Limiting Belief Public Services with Limitless Ideas of Governance” gives a sneak preview about how ideas of good governance can be implemented to make the society gravitate towards better and corruption free society by erasing the limiting beliefs.
Rohini Sindhuri' is an Indian Administrative Service officer of Karnataka Cadre, from the 2009 batch. She secured 43rd rank in the UPSC exam and has been working in various departments in her career as an IAS ofiicer. Rohini was responsible for computerisation of tax collection at source in Tumkur district of Karnataka. As Chief Executive Officer of Mandya Zilla Parishad, Rohini launched a drive to provide individual toilets to 1.02 lakh households and constructed 1,00,000 individual toilets across the district which made the district No. 1 in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the state and 3rd in India. Rohini successfully utilised the Central government's grant of 65 crore for drinking water and by using this grant, Rohini and her team instituted 100 pure drinking water units across the district. She also took a serious view of female foeticide in the district and organised the health department and ASHA workers in reporting such incidents and educating parents against this practice. Rohini made headlines recently. IPS Roopa made several allegations against her. Fight between these two IAS and IPS officer made big headlines. Rohini was not able to answer those allegations by Roopa. Giving speech is very easy. Rohini joined hands with many politicians in Karnataka.
Whatever work rohini ma'am had come up with in the talk . . I have myself seen those getting implemented . . I being from Mandya (where she was posted as CEO panchayat) . . Incredible work has been done from her side . . Even Hassan from 31st rank jumped to rank 1 . . She has come up with tourism work in Janvar kere which was lying like dead lake (near Shravanabelagola where Bahubali Abhishek took place ) and as created employment for localites . . Even today people of Mandya and Hassan remember her with full respect . . Indeed!! As ppl say she is the lady Singham of Karnataka

I have been following you from your Hassan assignment. Primarily because I worked in Hassan DC OFFICE during 1977 & then I was the Branch Manager of SBI, Channapatna during 2006, the year in which the previous Maha Mastakabhisheka was held. Its one of the Best talks in Ted by an IAS officer. Most of the talks are about how they cleared their exam, how tough the exam was, how they were underdogs blah blah blah.....They feel they have achieved great thing by clearing IAS.....i heard somewhere that even she struggled a lot, had an accident etc etc to clear her exam ....but instead of glorifying those details the way she has focused on the WORK done and the challenges faced is commendable.
