This was the first video I ever seen of yours Chris. That was several months ago. You not only sold me on the AMP 11, but also on your playing. Thank you sir.
I have one of these (though it’s the small box version) - it rules! Seriously, fantastic playing. It’s like John Mayer and Phillip Sayce made a baby on your fretboard. ; )
Great playing Chris. Lovepedal drive pedals are exactly what I look for in a drive, simple, straight forward, but harmonically rich. Good on you for using the Squier, I have an old one that is very special; feels and plays as good as any Strat I have played or owned.
It may be a bit more than 5%. A good pedal (or guitar, or amp) may inspire the player, give him more confidence, etc., and all of this psychology will come out in the playing.
Fantastic playing :) Just got one of these today and it has exactly the same noise problem on the boost control! Still one of the best sounding drive pedals ever though :)
Oh man! that noodling at the beginning is beautiful! I loved the lights on detail. I use the exact same analogy. When I got the Two Stroke Boost + EQ by Orange, I decided the settings I liked and then went off to write a review on it. I said: It feels as if you suddenly turn the light on on your tone! :-D good one! and thx for sharing these as usual. Looking forward to other reviews, probable the Royal Flush? cheers! +Buck and Evans
A bottle of Blanton's Straight From The Barrel - Great Bourbon A couple of great friends 8 hrs of these Jams playing in the background...sorted! ...That should be the Album 'Bourbon with friends' :)
Is it just me or does this sound way better than the king of tone pedal. Sounds incredible on every change you made to the settings. Outstandingly good tone and playing as ever Chris
That’s a great drive section - lovely and open sounding👌 Also, LEDs that’d take out your retinas if you look at them wrong is always the mark of greatness in a pedal...😉😎
I'm a good guitar player. Every time I watch Chris play I think, "he's not doing anything I can't do there", but when I try, I just not the same. Very frustrating.
Loved your playing ever since I found you here on UA-cam. Brilliant Playing and amazing phasing! Any plans on a guitar 🎸 instructional video for us wannabe’s?
Nice work, Chris. Great sounding pedal in a crowded market. Suits your playing very well and a nice versatile sound. The question is, do you have room on your board for it? Haha, there's always room isn't there! #needabiggerboard
Holy crap....yowza's. If you think your amp will scream this tone when you plug in...think again LOL. You are not him. Having said that, Lovepedal makes some amazing pedals!
I ended up buying the LovePedal Amp 11 small box, and I do like it alot. I don't quite get the tone that you're hearing here, but it's still a great sound into my Eastman SB-59 and Traynor YCV20. Does anyone have experience with comparison of the Small Box and Big Box? I didn't realize I'd bought something different until it arrived in the mail. I doubt I'll trade, just curious. Thanks!
Almost sounds like there's also a compressor in the signal path, is it really just the guitar and the pedal? Sounds amazing and great playing, by the way,... : )
The boost side and overdrive side gave very little diode clipping in most settings and most of the magic comes from having lots of volume in tap. That's what gets you that compression sound. I own two amp 11 clones and I've modded both to highlight that open drive tone with minimal diode clipping. I have two compressors on my boards. An empress mkii and a diamond clone(optical comp) but I often just use the boost side of the amp 11 specifically for a boosted open compression. I can get the same thing with a comp pedal by having the compression ratio lower and the make up gain higher. Anyways the Amp11 is a great pedal!
How are you able to keep the hiss down. I’ve got the same setup, but my strat is noisy as fuck when I increase drive... I’ve shielded the pickup cavities. Back of the pick guard etc ... could it be because my pickups are hand wound? It don’t do it on out of phase position though... Kindest Regards DW
Bought mine based off of this review and it’s probably not going to ever come off of my board: super touch sensitive without muddiness, esp at mid to low gain where imho it shines.
Thanks man, sounds a lot like a Mayer tune! But I don't hear this riff in any of the songs from these albums. If it won't be a problem for you to search for the title of the song, I'd be very grateful!
@@RHCPablo_ ah crap! I know this tune! Just can't put my finger on it. This is gonna bug me now. Anyone out there can shed some light on the riff from 5:27 onwards? Both myself and Pawel Skorupa would be very grateful.
Yeah I knew I knew it! It’s the chorus of “Wait Until Tomorrow” by Jimi Hendrix. Mayer does a version of this with his Trio. The sound of Mayer’s playing on this tune very similar to Chris Bucks sound and feel. Go to 0:57 of Wait Until Tomorrow on the Trio album and you’ll hear it. Woke up from sleep and it popped into my mind. I guess the age old wisdom of sleep on it still rings true!
@@stevethebeeline44 Wow that's it!! There is even a full cover of this song on Chris channel! Can't wait to grab my guitar and learn this. Huge thanks for help, cheers!
Super clean right hand muting technique. I I also go pickless as I feel more connected to the guitar, I play fewer crutch patterns, and I feel like I'm "pulling" the sound out of the guitar.
@@mckorczas7483 I got this one and it rules, but definitely try to find the big-box version instead of the regular one. It has more headroom/volume (this might not be ideal for everyone) and more gain but it needs juice from the amp. If you have a nice tube amp turned up loud, this pedal is something else. So incredibly transparent and dynamic. I haven't tried the Dane but I can't get over its enclosure and the price, but I'm sure it's an outstanding pedal as well.
Chris, I've wanted this pedal a long time. I recently got a Tim pedal. I know you've used both and they do a similar thing. Is it worth having both or would i be better off spending money on other things? I just bought a Lovepedal Vintage Modern and expect it soon. Also I'm getting far along on the KOT wait list
Ill be 57 October, but I really dont like the 50s era! just bought a LOvepedal Kalamazoo for 100€s thou, and I play strat neck pup waiting fo betta times..: nice goin C, K😋😋
While this sounds amazing, I have to talk about the 50$ joyo pedal American sound. It is phenomenal, and for that price, it's just stupid not to try it. I bought it 3 years ago because I was like heh, let's try this. Haven't brought my amp to a gig ever since.
Best tone on the internet, with ‘only’ a Squier and Guitar Rig. And that’s *before* the pedal. Crazy.
Chris has hands, ears, and taste.
Hands down, the best video of this pedal I've seen.
This was the first video I ever seen of yours Chris. That was several months ago. You not only sold me on the AMP 11, but also on your playing. Thank you sir.
You are an amazing player. And the best guitar UA-camr out there. Thanks for the superb quality of your melodic and soulful playing. Keep on
Thank you so much 🙂
I only watch these 'product demos' to hear Chris play .... Mind-blowing 🔥
I have one of these (though it’s the small box version) - it rules! Seriously, fantastic playing. It’s like John Mayer and Phillip Sayce made a baby on your fretboard. ; )
That's nasty
John Mayer and Philip Sayce are in my top 5. Guess I'll have to get it now.
get the big box! ha ha....
The sound of the equipment is outstanding in your performance. Excellent!
Great playing Chris. Lovepedal drive pedals are exactly what I look for in a drive, simple, straight forward, but harmonically rich. Good on you for using the Squier, I have an old one that is very special; feels and plays as good as any Strat I have played or owned.
You sir a a inspiration, I ran across this video to see a demo of the amp 11 because I have a lovepedal super 6 srv mod that I like great chops man
Your nuance and just plain balls combine well. And I like that you explore the subtleties inherent in the tone circuits.
Just beautiful work! Such a clear and simple demo! Awesome.
Oh, and I just ordered the pedal thanks to your work. Cheers again.
Great Tone + great fingers + great pedal = GREAT REVIEW
95% talent and 5% pedal here folks.
It may be a bit more than 5%. A good pedal (or guitar, or amp) may inspire the player, give him more confidence, etc., and all of this psychology will come out in the playing.
Loving the 5% 🙃
I agree
Absolutly true 😌 Everybody forgets but the important part is playing not pedals
U plug Chris's guitar into a banana, he can still play like this.
Dude I want that pedal it is literally exactly what im looking for
Came for the pedal review, stayed and subscribed for the playing. Awesome man!
Yer Yer Big deal , so what would this pedal sound like with a crap player ?
P.S. I have a vested interest....
Somehow I have a feeling it won't sound the same for me. Lol. This guy is BONKERS! What a player!
That squier sounds really good!!! I have a 89 Korean squier that smokes my MIA standard.
Chris, what an amazing player!
I wish I could give more than just one thumb-up! Great tone and great playing.
Great musician and great tone! Love using pedals before Guitar Rig, often overlooked way of recording guitar with great tone.
Dude, you have a very fucking awesome nice playing!!!
One part pentatonic blues licks, one part Major 7ths, a dash of major pentatonics = awesome Chris Buck pedal demo.
Never noticed your upworth’s raking technic of your middle finger. Nice.
Fantastic playing :) Just got one of these today and it has exactly the same noise problem on the boost control! Still one of the best sounding drive pedals ever though :)
It's adjusting the bias, bias adjustment always makes that noise, no problem just physics in action.
Still watching in 2023!!!!!!!

Awesome tone !!!
Agreed! Although Mike "Analogman" might disagree...lol
Beautiful playing. Great touch and taste.
Great playing my man and a good demo of the Amp 11!!
Great tone and very nice playing.
Wow men! I love the tone! Awesome how your fingers sound! Congrats!
Hi Chris, have you compared it with your Timmy?
It's almost identical to it, well with the boost feature, to the Tim instead.
the sustain on that guitar is awesome
Guitar and Cali76 most likely. Could be wrong tho. Chris is the best
Love your playing and your pickups. You tone from your fingers is supurb wth any gear. Thanks for your inspiration. Cheers

I've watched a lot of pedal and guitar reviews, but THAT...my goodness.
Awsome technique and nuance
O som do pedal é lindo de Mais!! Mas a dinâmica do guitarrista é outro nível, todas as notas bem executada!!!

Sublime playing sir.
sweet sound, regards from Lithuania

Is there a good explanation of the bias control on the boost side of this pedal? That’s why it’s noisy when you adjust it, right?
That's correct. Operating as intended.
Is it sounding like the Tim pedal? Maybe?
The schematic is VERY close.
Is this one different from the standard one? Is this one still avaleble?
Mate - when 5:12 hits....does yours have a ridiculous amount of volume on tap as well?
Hey Chris, how do u feel about the Amp 11 compared to other Lovepedal's? And looking back do they hold up against today's dirt boxes? Cheers :)
So this is on modeling software? 😲. Or did you/I miss the amp in the description somewhere? Sounds amazing! Very quiet guitar too!
Talent ...
Ohh God, that riff at 5:27 is insane!!! Does anybody know if it is a song or it is improvised?
Paweł Skorupa I think it’s a tune from John Mayer “Trio” act. Pretty sure it’s on the “Where The Light Is” DVD, and the Trio album.

is this pedal very loud?
Crazy considering the signal path (no real amp) - the talent do the rest
Great demo. I currently have one on order. Are you running the pedal at 9 volts or 18 volts? Thanks. :)
SuperReverb2 looks like nothing is plugged in so probably a 9v battery. I could be wrong though, atleast that’s what my wife tells me. 🤷♂️
I should order this pedal so I can sound like this bloke.. ;)
Learn your major scales and double stops
@@Luke-ic6xe well, that sounds like a lot of work.. aint there a pill er suttin?
Boss od? Morning glory? Tube screamer? What copy this pedal is?
What are you trying to say, I have all of them and they all sound good but they are all different. Maybe you should practice more J.S.
starko !!!
Dude - where are you playing next. I want in
When you bend strings like that, you're gonna have to re-tune. Outstanding playing! Pedal seems fantastic too.
I wish you were my neighbor
