Texas Book Festival with Laura Bush

LBJ Library Director Mark K. Updegrove interviewed former First Lady Laura Bush to kickoff this year's Texas Book Festival, which Mrs. Bush helped found as First Lady of Texas in 1995. Returning to the festival for the first time as an author, Mrs. Bush spoke to Updegrove about her memoir, Spoken from the Heart. In a remarkably candid conversation, Mrs. Bush shared memories of her upbringing in Midland, meeting her husband, and life in the White House, including the dark days after 9/11, while discussing her post-White House activities with the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Dallas' Southern Methodist University.

When I watch this interview, always have very warm feeling from the former 1st Lady Laura Bush’s kind face. President Bush families are always very principled and patriotic toward our country America, kind to all Americans humble to themselves and generosity forgiveness and kindness nature toward others’ mistakes and service as learning experiences from mistakes and do better things quickly together as decency and grace. I believe patriotism and principles, righteousness and honesty, kindness and decency nature toward each other’s service and mistakes, do better from learning experiences together too. Let’s forgive each other and reunite together again by our own generosity forgiveness and kindness nature toward each other’s service and mistakes this time and move forward quickly together this time and reunite together again for getting things done quickly together now. Let’s reunite together and govern by our country America’s own established laws afterwards together again. Let’s unite together and put ideologies down and cherish what we have for others to dream for it as our freedoms, entrepreneurship spirit and equality of opportunities principles for our country America’s greatness. I still remember during and after 911 incident, how the former President Bush 43 made America and Americans of all safe with Congress and high leveled Generals together. Let’s unite together again by our own generosity forgiveness and kindness nature toward each other’s service and mistakes for America’s greatness. Use our precious time, energy and financial resources to build our great country America together for safety, prosperity and unity as well as preserving our freedoms, entrepreneurship spirit and equality of opportunities principles forever as our learning experiences.
