Libby Lehman returns to Quilting for the first time (Stroke Recovery)

- Stroke victim Libby Lehman is on the road to recovery and is back in her studio for the first time in 2.5 years. Guided by Ricky Tims, she embarks a new quilt journey and teaches us about courage and kindness. Libby suffered a Brain Aneurysm on April 30, 2013, then suffered a massive stroke recovering from her surgery. She remained in an induced coma for months. Doctors said that she would never be able to speak or understand speech again. Libby proved them wrong!

Some things you never forget; not even a stroke can take away from you. Apparently sewing a quarter-inch seam is one of them. ;) Blessings to you, Libby. So good to see you working again! (Ricky, you are the best.)

I took a class from Libby in Montana in 2006. She is such a great teacher and I just love love her quilts. I followed her progress every night before I went to bed on the Caring Bridge and prayed for her nightly. I cried as I watched this video. Words cannot express the joy that I felt seeing Libby sewing again. What better person than Ricky, a dear friend of Libby's, to have the honor of working with Libby on her first sewing project. Libby you have worked so very very hard to get to this point! You have such a sweet spirit and what an inspiration you are to others. You are loved by so many people. God bless you!

What a wonderful tribute. I too had a stroke a few years back and the day I went back to my sewing machine, my family was ecstatic. I think they knew from that point that I was rally on the road to recovery. Great job Libby!

Passion over perfection, indeed! Bless Libby and those enveloping her. Quilting is so healing and full of joy, it's helping me through neurological illness and there are so many tools now, and most especially kind people that make it possible. How beautiful that she's quilting again with such a great smile!

Yes, I remember as well when Libby couldn't walk nor talk and her life had so many challenges. Libby's family's journaling allowed us to read of her day by day recovery and thus witness a true miracle. Praising God! Thank you so much for this video...it means a lot to us. xo

ricky, maybe you have just invented a new stroke therapy. sewing is so left and right side of the brain. and the common sense is in the front of the brain. HMMMMMMM. THINK ABOUT IT. AND START A FOUNDATION WITH VOLUNTEERS, AND DONATED MACHINES. ALL THE QUILTERS AROUND THE WORLD WOULD DONATE SUPPLIES. RALLY RICKY, RALLY.
