After some minor interpretation, I was able to use your instructions to set up my Riccar 515! The tag says it was manufactured in 1983, and here I am in 2024 learning to use it. Thanks!
I just wanted to thank you for posting this video. I have a similar machine but had no idea what I was doing wrong with the bobbin. I am a complete novice. Yours was the ONLY video I could find that showed how to load the bobbin into the exact bobbin case that I have.
Thank you so much for making this video! I had put my Riccar 500FA in storage and haven't sewed in over a year, so when I pulled it out I didn't remember how to thread it. I KNOW SUPER SILLY.
I'm sure this video is old but THANK YOU I couldn't figure out what to do to keep the thread in my needle yours is the only video that said pull it through the foot to the back I shouldn't need to ask, this is my grandma's machine & I should've taken the time but I didn't but I am now so THANK YOU
You are happy and you don't know. Explore the extra feet. How many feet 3 or 6? Explore, don't postpone your happiness. To me the best foot is the blind stitch, the narrow top stitch, the invisible zipper. Usually people has to buy the additionals feet. Unless you pay a lot for the machine, and the machine comes with a lot feet. But you paid for $70 to 150 machine. You don't get these precious feet. And you buy these feet, it gets more expensive than the machine you boutht. Seriously.
Hi I picked up the machine from someone's front yard that they were getting rid of. But the foot does not go up and down what can I do. The motor seems to run it's just a foot that won't go up and down have you ever had that issue.?
When you bought this machine, did come additional 6 different feet with the machine? or just the foot already in your machine. I know somebody that was given the 550 rkcar machine and additional 6 different feet, I don't believe the maker gives 6 feet, I think the machine owner bought the additional 6 feet.
Hi I got this machine but it doesn't work I worry there is a piece missing on the tension assembly. Would it be possible to have a video on that?, or simply knowing how many pieces are there?, thanks a lot
I have a riccar 9295 school use one .. I have been searching the web for way too long, I am really hoping my model works the same as this. Will let you know. Thanks for the video.
I have a Raccar 500FA super stretch sewing machine that came with 3 bobbins. I do not drive so couldn't get back to the store and it is not there anymore. I am looking for information as to which bobbins I could buy for this machine. Can anyone help me. For all the years I have this machine I only have 3 bobbins and I wish upon a star to be able to buy online more bobbins for my only sewing machine. Please someone help me. I can't seem to find it in my booklet or maybe I am missing it.
Sorry about late reply, you can sometimes put a piece of wood on the edge of the foot petal that will only allow you to press it part way down. They are variable speed machines. Or you foot petal may be defective and only have on / off working.
More light, hold camera still, if you name a step where the thread is going please hold that step a second so that viewer knows what part you are talking about. I imagine anyone choosing this kind of topic on YT either knows nothing about sewing w this machine or is trying to refresh their memory. Watch a cooking channel- the camera work is very important.
So many things wrong w this demonstration - for somebody just learning this machine. To be constructive: please get your camera mounted still but near enough to machine so that I can see each step; slow down, identify each step w the name of that gizmo but show us each gizmo - slowly- as your hands stay out of the way but give us a close up view. Imagine you are watching on tv- how would that camera person hold the shot? Get somebody to do that part and hold it still please to give zoom a chance to focus. I have an old Ricarr, no guidebook, no “ idenitifying “ model name that even tells me when it was made. The last time I sewed anything was in 1964 when I took a Singer Sewing Machine “ class. My mother made me…… but that machine was different- at least the whole bobbin loading thing. Thanks for trying- I might be back.
