After a month of beating your chest you guys finally realized your strategic mistake and are now forced to send in reserves to Pokrovsk and Toretsk/Niu York and you think Ukraine is winning 😂. Buddy, let me tell you that the overall situation is still bad for Ukraine? Why? Because Russia is dictating the battlefield, they are forcing the Ukrainians to react to prevent collapse. It's like death by a thousand cuts, ok so Ukraine sent troops to Niu York? Russia just activate another front and starts moving there causing the Ukrainians more headache and forcing them to react again! Their supplies are already getting spread thin, Russia is playing it smartly by constantly putting pressure all over the front and moving in if they feel weakness in an area and they've been doing it for a long, long time no (and as you can see it is indeed working, Ukrainians are getting attritted away)
The fact that Ukraine launched a massive offensive across the border but couldn't defeat encircled Russians far behind lines supposedly is actually just a slap in the face to them. They have the best equipment on the front but they're too afraid of losing it to risk it in real combat.

A resident of the city of Krivoy Rog, Semyon Zelensky, joined the army shortly after Germany attacked the USSR - in mid-August 1941, when he was not yet 18 years old. That is, he volunteered, before the legally required mobilization period. The young lad was sent to a military school, after graduating in 1942, he received a "kubar" on his buttonhole. The newly minted junior lieutenant then found himself at the front - in the 153rd Rifle Division (on New Year's Eve it was awarded the title of Guards and therefore assigned a different number: 57th Guards Rifle Division).
S. Zelensky fought in the 174th Guards Rifle Regiment, where he commanded a platoon of powerful mortars.
Zelensky's division fought as part of the Southwestern Front, later renamed the 3rd Ukrainian. Together with his unit, Semyon Ivanovich passed through the entire Left-Bank Ukraine, pushing back the enemy in battles, and took part in forcing the Dnieper. And in the winter of 1944, military fate brought him very close to his hometown: the 57th Guards was advancing in the Nikopol area, literally fifty kilometers from Krivoy Rog.
In early February, the Wehrmacht launched a powerful counterattack here with several divisions at once. Our units had to defend themselves. It was in these fierce battles that Junior Lieutenant Semyon Zelensky, who was not yet 20 years old at the time, fully demonstrated his military skill and courage.
You can learn about his exploits from the description of them in the award sheet (the original spelling has been preserved):
"Comrade Semen Ivanovich Zelensky, in battles from January 25 to February 9, 1944, with his mortar platoon suppressed the fire of a mortar battery, two heavy machine guns and three light machine guns, dispersed and destroyed up to a company of enemy infantry near the Sorochina gully (?) on February 2. (In battles) for the village of Aleksandrovka, acting for a rifle platoon, he destroyed up to 15 German soldiers and officers, when running out of ammunition, he showed his initiative, seeing a knocked out tank, he ordered a soldier to take the tank and from there fire from a machine gun at the attacking enemy infantry. Thus, 4 attacks were repelled and a captured ammunition depot was taken. Comrade Semen Ivanovich Zelensky is worthy of the government award of the Order of the Red Star. Commander of the 174th Guards Rifle Regiment, Major Kolmogorov, February 14, 1944."

Such would confirm the Ukrainan claim that they didn't loose Nyu York... Stalemate, if the remainings were to weak to attack and take the sides of the urban area back. Notice that Kryvyi Torrets/Kleban-Byk -Druzhba encercles Torretsk, while reinforcements by Kostiantynivka would be very difficult. it would become easy to isolate allso Kalynove and cut the road Pokrovsk- Kostyantynivka... russians could establish strongholds south of Bychok-river to join where begins Kazennyi Torrets to protect Ocheretyne-Prohres-Hrodivka high plateau... this is in Donetsk the most strategical position possible...
But Ukraina could still succeed in empeaching Kryvyi-Torrets area and Kalynove (river)area to be isolated of Kostyantinivka....that should be now the main battle/targets as ... Novohrodivka-Hrodivka and ... Kostyantynopil - Uspenivka...

That Niu York mapping doesn't make any sense to me. How can the Russians be improving their positions on the flanks while losing ground to the north?! If the Ukrainians are attacking from the north, then I would expect that Russia's primary efforts involve them defending their northern positions.

Russia lost a lot more troops than what they are admitting to, they don't have the man power to cover all the front lines anymore, but they still have plenty of fire power though. These next couple of weeks are going to be fun to watch on both sides to see how they counter each other.
