I have a recipe on my blog for Cornflake Squares and someone referred to as Australian Crunch. It's cornflakes and coconut with icing on the top. Is that what you know as Aussie Crunch?
I believe (but don't quote me on this) they were renamed to Empire Biscuits around the time of WW1, but remained known as German Biscuits in Northern Ireland.
@@traybakesmore I'm Scottish and I've always known them as German biscuits, all the local bakers name them that, my family all call them German too, to be honest the only time I've seen empire biscuit was on a packet of factory made ones in a shopping store which baffles me because I've not known Germany to have an empire and in the UK the empire obviously means British and they are German idk lol
My mum always called the German biscuits! Love this
