This was one of my favorite episodes. Amorpho is not really a malevolent spirit, he doesn't want to hurt anyone, he just wants attention. Even trying to mess with Danny was more out of a sense of jealousy than hatred. This episode was just one of those rare and unique instances where the ghost wasn't evil, but put the main character in an interesting setup.
Yeah he even admits that the bus got out of hand, he just kinda liked messing with people without being truly malicious.. if Box Ghost wasn't the butt-monkey I could have totally seen Amorpho being one, like random people get hit and it's him accidentally in the crossfire or something Or even him actually being *helpful* like "I gotta be two places at once, can you help me for a bit?"
Changeling of Tzeentch, is that you? Able to shape shifting anytime he wants, check. Exist to cause trouble, check. Stay faceless in the main form, check.
Frankly, I feel this was a misstep for a character like this. One complaint I have for DP is that almost all ghosts Danny encounters are malevolent or at least cause trouble. There aren’t any friendly ghosts. The only ones to memory are the Dairy King and Frostbite, though the latter was only kind because Danny was a prophecy made flesh…ectoplasm…whatever. Maybe it’s because he looks like a cross between the Specter and the Question, both from DC, but I’d like him to have been a mentor figure. That design and penchant for shapeshifting gives him a sort of trickster mentor archetype. Heck, Clockwork is considered by the fandom to be Danny’s mentor, and he’s only in two episodes. We need more friendly ghosts in DP.
I would agree with you, but one big reason Clockwork is considered one of the protagonists and mentors of Danny is that he actually learns his Ghostly Wail power through the events that transpire in Clockwork’s introduction in the Ultimate Enemy episode. Without Clockwork, he doesn’t learn this power because he doesn’t learn his lesson and all the other stuff that comes with the episode. For Amorpho to have actually contributed, he would have had to have learned something like an ability (and potentially a lesson or moral), but to me learning how to shapeshift to look like other people (although sometimes useful) seems like a power that comes across as a bit too creepy for a hero to have. “Identity theft is not a joke jim” and all that stuff. It just doesn’t fit with Danny’s more or less straightforward approach to problems. It would have also made the show run into the problem of “well why didn’t he just trick his opponent into thinking he was somebody else 90% of the time?” and that doesn’t lead to fun fights imo. I feel like you could maybe have told a more nuanced story with Amorpho, like a ghost with an identity crisis who wants to find a place in the world, but I feel like the way it was handled was just fine.
Amorpho was funny 😂 but in terms of power , Danny is more powerful in terms of season 3 He is pretty awesome but Nocturn and undergrowth Are more powerful than Amorpho

And Also too, my other theory about going along with Amorpho though is that couldn't he just be able to transform/shapeshift/alternate himself into Nocturn, Undergrowth, Vortex, Fright Knight, Pariah Dark, Walker, Prince Aragon, Princess Dorathea: (And maybe even in their dragon forms as well)??? 🤔... or pretty much just about any of the powerful ghost character villains in the whole ghost zone whatsoever. And also too, just for me to say for the most majority of it, that is... if Amorpho can morph into Danny Phantom, I think that maybe Amorpho could also just morph into possibly Dark Danny too as well! 🤔 And if so with all that said about him is that maybe Amorpho could also be able to adapt any of the ghost villain's powers of any of theirs that Amorpho can shapeshift into... But hey! I mean, what do you or anybody else happen to think of either of those couple of theories on it with any of all that?

Maybe if Amorpho could morph into Vlad Plasmius since Vlad can duplicate himself. Amorpho could morph into Vlad Plasmius and him as Vlad Plasmius can split out into two. (Just Vlad does). So that Amorpho as Vlad's other 2nd duplicative ghost half side of him can duplicate it of spreading out into 2 Vlad Plasmius's while the other Vlad Plasmius (as Amorpho) morphs into Danny Phantom and then Amorpho can come into the reverse duplication of bringing them both together of that from Danny Phantom and Vlad Plasmius of coming back into one. So that way, Amorpho can morph both of himself together from Danny and Vlad's ghost halves to come together and then Amorpho can create himself from both Danny and Vlad's ghost forms from the seperate duplications of the both of them to come together of going into actually altering Amorpho of himself into Dark Danny?? And just all the way from there... But... maybe yet, the theory remains though, that him as Dark Danny can still morph back into Amorpho's actual ghost appearance of his own ghost self too as well! Though. And without actually turning himself evil like him becoming the ultimate enemy. And if so from there, in that case. Then imagine Amorpho as Dark Danny Vs. The real Dark Danny himself, as if he were to escape out of the Fenton thermos to break free from it!! (Kinda like afterwards from after the ending of Ultimate Enemy). And then later for Dark Danny to find out that someone was already impersonating him already! And Dark Danny says: "Wait! How is that even me?! If I'm already here now!! And just about to get everyone here in this world?! Man! I don't get it! How is even this possible for this to even be"?!?! But, without Dark Danny even knowing who it is though... and then, Dark Danny would be so confused... And Amorpho could also just about be anybody...
