This method worked for me, but with a completely different phone, by a sheer stroke of luck! It's an LG Aristo 2 by Metro, and there was some weird Metro app pre-installed that would appear after a time when waking up the phone (yes, the app would open with FRP lock active before even setting up the phone). It brought up their proprietary browser, and after finding a "submit feedback" link, it brought me to Android's add an email account screen. Then I was able to continue on with your method, and bam, changed the PIN! Thanks. 😁

Still works in July 2022. I had an old MetroPCS Stylo 4 just sitting in the drawer. I used this method to remove FRP. I then ordered another off Ebay that was FRP locked. It worked on that one too. If you get a MeterPCS version you can use the preloaded app to SIM unlock it for free. I did that with both phones.

I got to the email process and the when I tapped add credentials it took me to a file screen. Nothing popped up asking to change pin or pattern.

Despite successfully using the workaround to set a screen lock pin, the set up is still asking for the original Google/Gmail account credentials :(. 07/05/2022
