That's a great way to put it. I would not be too surprised if Chris delays fixing it for an extra video or two (why fix it until you REALLY need it?). Definitely makes people comment. Not that Chris would necessarily do something like this, but I've seen/heard some UA-camrs intentionally make stupid/obvious errors that are meaningless (e.g., mental math errors) just to drive viewers to comment.
Wow that 330 is making short work of that basement! Nice job, Chris. I know it's a bit bigger but, oh my is that a big house. It's one thing to see paint on the ground & plans on paper. Something else when dirt is moved. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chris : Another fun to watch project ! You have removed so many trees and moved so much soil that is hard to believe the size and scope of this entire job !!!
@@2dronetek2 That might be; we got rain last week here in Central Texas for about three minutes. The airport recorded 1/100ths of an inch. First rain we’ve had in two months.

Big basement, lots of dirt. It is looking like a well excavated site, nice clean square corners and nice clean cut walls, I like it. Thanks for the update sir.

With that said, I’m sure he’d help his Uncle out if he really needed him and he could fit it in his schedule. I don’t think there was any animosity involved in Chris’s move to his own business.

Hope his engineers are thinking about water handling long term. With that clay under layer, it’s not likely to drain well. Hopefully the basement is higher elevation than the pond level. On a more near term, are you watching the storm in the Gulf? Predicting that it’s coming your way next weekend. May need a method to pump out your holes or the walls tend to erode and sluff in. I said it once before ( quite some time ago ), but your eye for grade is nothing less than impressive! Nice looking work!
My guess is they will use Form-a-drain around the perimeter and have a sump pump just in case, with a small line running out the the pond. Then they can fill in the base pad(maybe do radiant floor heating) then start putting up the ICF.
Thankful that you have dry weather for this project. I would not want to de attempting this if it were full of water and slippery clay. Wishing you and your family a blessed weekend, restful evenings and seasonally appropriate weather. Peace Chris
I live in Michigan, before there was machines do digging it was done by hand. A typical farmhouse a 8-9 ft deep trench of the foundation was dug then field rocks were laid in by hand. Great video. Congrats on the new machine! Was cool to have a “hang out in the cab, while you talk” style video. Reminded me of some of your older stuff.
At least you can use the spoils to backfill! I build Valvoline oil change buildings in Indiana, they always get a ~65x35' basement, bottom of the cut is usually 11 feet or so, always cut the sides at a 1:1, and we have to backfill the whole thing with washed #8s!!!
aw man, I just noticed the missing mirror on the left of the cab. I was thinking there was a story there so I went back to the unloading it on arrival video. It was also missing there too. If you need a few bucks to replace it, just hollar! lol Congrats on your new excavator. Looks awesome. Cheers from Louisiana.
As it was said in the 330 video, someone at volvo really dropped the ball, but its a ball in a game volvo wont notice since they sale single machines five times Chris' total equipment thus far.

@11:30 "This is actually a really good grading machine." That's very high praise from Chris, especially given that he wasn't expecting it the Hyundai to be very good at grading.
@@2dronetek2 Yes. Also, the ground Chris is digging and grading is almost rock hard, which I imagine is much more difficult to grade than soft ground, especially with a toothed digging bucket instead of a regular grading bucket. EDIT: The fact that Chris was able to basically hit his grades with the Hyundai and then spend only 20 minutes dressing things up with the skid steer (which many operators wouldn't have even bothered to do, especially for the bottom of a hole that will soon be covered in concrete, but Chris always goes the extra mile) also says a lot.

I remember that job of undercutting and needing to put back so much stone. It was a strange corner lot of the subdivision that had been overlooked for a while, but it was like the last lot space or one of the last ones. And it just happened to be where the old filled in borrow pit was. So it was still full of mud and other debris.
