My thing about Ten hag tactic
1. Ten hag know our best chance to score goals is in transition because our player just isnt creative so we need to press and win the ball high on the pitch
2. But the problem we don't have physical mobile midfielder and defender to push high and cover space behind
3. So we ending up press high but midfielder and defender stay deep, that a risk that Ten hag take this season. Thats why we conceded so many shoot
4. If we don't want to conceded so many shoot we have to stay deep as team be Compact and don't press. Thats make us went back to ole time, which one do you choose???

Exactly.. everyone was saying at the end of last season too, that we need to develop a better style of play and not be counter attacking/low block. Because he had to revert to that after the poor start of last season. Fans are just morons. They don’t get that you’re gonna have issues when you don’t have your key players, and half of the team can’t play a progressive style but a progressive style is what needs to be implemented whether we suffer in the short term or not.

If INEOS sack Ten hag and keep those player then they are no different to Glazers. Glazers only want to sack the coach because its cheaper than overhaul the most of the squad. If INEOS do the same then the cycle Will repeat again
@lordbizzle2424 I really want us to play progressively but we haven't done that this entire season so we definitely aren't gonna be doing that for the remaining few games. We just don't have that kind of players to play Ten hag style. Just see the season off somehow without embarrassing themselves and start again next season with new players or new manager.

This was a great game for the neutral, but for both sets of fans, it shows why both teams are where they are.
I would normally agree with you about McTominay. But Casemiro was absolutely shocking for most of the game tonight, I was amazed EtH kept him on the pitch as long as he did.
Casemiro is asked to track the whole of the middle of the field. He is an old player asked to be on an island all on his own in a basketball match. He is always going to look well off it. This is mostly because Ten Hag tactical instruction last season it was never like this because Casemiro had help in midfield now he has none.

Could have brought on Eriksen or Amrabat to play deeper. McTominay is a genuinely shit player unless he scores. He offers absolutely nothing in team play.

@@jtmz87 I agree completely with this. He was our best player last season by far. This season he's being asked to cover the whole midfield while all the others fuck off and do what they want.
I put the cutbacks down to the point you raised about the 2 centre halves dropping early. The midfield is pressing high, then have to cover an extra 20 yards on the defensive transition. Not having a true DCM exaggerates the issue.
Never thought I would say this but we have missed Fred with his elite pressing and energy.

@@spiritual84 As a huge Dalot fan, this was probably one of his (rarer) 6-6.5/10 games today. That being said, I agree with your comment. Also not helped that the pitch was soaked (several players slipped during the game) and he was up against a fresh Madueke. If anything, when Madueke came on, if I’d been Ten Hag I’d have swapped Dalot over to RB and had AWB to LB to deal with him. I suspect Dalot would have been fine up against Sterling for the last 10 minutes or so

Ste...this is a blessing. Over-hall the team in the summer especially the attitudes and wages. Start next season with a different model. Focus on the league and cups. Too many players making mental and skill-set errors.

I think that probably puts an end to ETH at MUFC manager to be honest. I think he should get another season with a new structure, but there’s just not enough evidence on the pitch that we’re heading in the right direction. If he does go, i hope hes followed by a large clear out of the playing staff. Very players should be un-sellable at this point…

He isn't, he just doesn't have the legs to cover a massive distance so when we try to play a high press with a low block casemiro is never going to cover that. Compare it with last season where the defence played high casemiro was one of the best in the league as he didn't have to cover as much space

I think the high press might be a way to try and fix the goal difference, by making more scoring opportunities.
The cut backs have been a problem for years. I remember Jose calling it out. Think it was Watford we conceded two and after the game he said he warned the players about it but they didn't take it onboard

The players looked absolutely dead on their feet after 20mins. I wonder if the players have just been ran into the ground this week since the Brentford game. Wouldn’t surprise me if they had done a session the morning of the game.
These players simply have not been coached to see a game out and control it. That's solely on the coaching staff. We can all see the hole that is left defensively when McTominay comes on, and that Rashford does NOTHING to defend. Yet he still brings them on. Ten Hag has dug own his grave, through that classic Dutch stubbornness, and he can lie in that grave for all I care.
It's that shit mentality of defending a 1 goal advantage with 20 minutes left to play. 2 seasons in and he hasn't learned that he needs to be at least 2 or 3 goals up to consider sitting back to defend. It's complete madness to think you can defend a 1 goal lead for 20 minutes against any team, be it Chelsea, city, Liverpool or Coventry.
How can you concede another goal after conceding a goal when we had kick off. Take the point and get out of that shit hole. Game intelligence is level zero

It wasn't the 8 minutes of extra time that killed us (it was still 2-3 at 98 minutes), it was the additional 4 minutes the ref pulled out of his arse that did it.

Its easy, just manage the game out, be a shithouse, use gamesmanship, do whatever it takes, but ensure you win. Some players need to wake up, others one in particular needs to play with purpose, not emotion. One other point, apparently we don't employ a fitness coach either, unreal.

Chelsea were dead and buried, but their manager saw that we were acting like we’ve won and that’s why he sent in madueke to start running at Dalot, and the plan worked just fine. This game right here hurt really deeply, felt like someone just died. Too painful to take. Casimero should just leave he’s done, thanks for an amazing last season, but we are done.
I think we need to buy like 3 defenders in the summer, we probably played like 5 games this season with our starting back line, just way too injury prone.
It's still annoying but it doesn't feel as bad as it has in past years. At least we're showing our weaknesses this time as a new structure is coming in, gives you hope that it can change
Dalot reminds me so much of John O'shea. Loyal, passionate, works hard, plays different positions, manager trusts him. Has good games, can keep it simple. But he can also be shaky sometimes and can make mistakes.
Agree, McTominay would be described that way too. You can't win major trophies with players like Dalot starting every week, but they're essential squad players for sure.
As a RB, he is consistently phenomenal. It is only when Ten Hag fucks about and puts him on the left that he has any issues. It is a huge change to switch which side a full back is playing on.

i have said it all season, we are SLOWEST team in premier league (especially in midfield) and our manager wants to play transition football (btw which he have never played before, dunno why he get job to do something he never done). 2 in our midfield, Bruno(slow, cant even pass anymore, he became 2nd mctominay sometimes a goal here and there) and casemiro(he just dont have ANY legs anymore) are way past their best. most players doesnt want to play for this manager, you see it from body language. our off ball defense is horrible (mainly cos we are so damn slow). also our passing game is slow, 3-5 touches and the pass itself is slower than people can run, so we are all tie under constant press. and then there is the fact we need to play our 5th 6th and 7th choice centerbacks. also our 350k a week star player rashford doesnt wanna run. we are such a mess atm and very very badly build team. im already scared of sunday cos its gonna be humiliating.
I sat in a pub absolutely cowering into myself for 30 minutes. Then I sat up for 30 minutes. Then I stood relatively proud for 20 minutes. Then as soon as the fourth goal went in I ended up being barred.
Brentford are a decent team, well organised and dogged. Chelsea are pure shit. Without Palmer they're a muzzled King Charles Cavalier. We couldn't even neuter one fucking player!!
I feel for ETH because again tonight we ended up suffering more injuries, making the whole thing impossible to salvage. It feels like he has no chance. Even Evans is injured. How the fuck do you manage that? Antony decides to play like even half the player we bought, and we still lose. I know Scott McTomminay has his weaknesses but I saw more from him than Caseimiro, who was awful, diving in, out of position, and not putting in effort.

@@StephenHowson Casemiro was poor, Mainoo was left isolated like he is most weeks and ETH doesn’t realise that you don’t try to hold a lead playing two number 10’s. He did the same thing against Copenhagen and against Galatasaray. We conceded late goals in the EXACT same manner, taking off Hojland who is our only outlet who can hold up the ball and playing two number 10’s which is suicide. Literally carbon copies.
But I don’t even care, I can’t get passed the fact he brings on radhford who shows nothing but disrespect to the club and manager but ETH is so weak and pathetic he doesn’t see it or doesn’t want to see it. Amad was the clear choice simply for his work rate after the Liverpool cameo.

Ten Hag's high press at Utd is just not worth the trade off - we concede massive space centrally, concede way to many shots on goal, in and around the box, that lead to deflected goals against - two against Liverpool, one against Chelsea in the dying seconds last night. Last night the amount of corners we gave away, sooner or later Chelsea were gonna get something from one of them! The cut back goal against Brentford was like getting your pants pulled down! I want to see a totally different approach, starting with the basics, be compact, deny the opposition anything, and take our chances when we get them. OK we won't make as many chances as we do playing in transition but we will control games better and be harder to beat. Right now it's just too easy for teams to create against us and Ten Hag is content with that because he wants to keep the goal threat, which is pointless if we don't win!
We're just needing to struggle over the line. End the season where we are and have a good transfer window. It's easy to blame one person but as Stephen has said, it's not just one man that runs the club.
In my mind, if you've been playing football since you were 5, the basics of defending should be engrained in you. It's down to the player to choose to be good, or use the manager as an excuse.
Anthony penalty is a tackle that wasn't needed. Palmers last goal is down to marking. Basics of football.
Let's get to the end of the season, let Radcliffe work his magic making the club great again and if Ten, with good transfers, still can't get the best out of the team next year after 8 months then let him go. Maybe even have potential managers in mind to go-to if the need arises.
When Ten came in we were good, defended from the front, had a great run in the league, won trophies and were looking amazing. The great wins this year cover up the cracks within the team and give us hope we are on the way back to greatness, but we are not.

Ridiculous how they lost that game. No other team about United in table would lose when ahead 3-2 in the 97th minute. Lack of leadership shown to see out the game and to make matters worse its down to the bare bones with centre back options for the rest of season.

We were exposed multiple times when Mainoo/Casemiro got caught up the pitch. A better team would have scored 7 or 8.

I’ve defended him too but I have finally had enough, he needs to go, and it’s not his fault, he was brought in to play a certain styles of football, he hasn’t been able to replicate that simply because the players cannot do it. They are not capable or good enough. Players like Anthony has suffered from this due to being brought in to play a particular style of football and ten hag hasn’t been able to play that style…. He needs to go, and we need to bring in a manger who can play a style of football that can bring out the best of the current players because even though we need “open heart surgery” it’s going to take years of not decades to complete the rebuild.
@@LT212-24 aye, a completely get the fact that he's not got the right players to play the system he ideally wants to play. But again, a competent manager would simply change system to one that does get the best out of the players he has until a time where he can implement his own style. Go back to Conte with Chelsea for example on what was his 1st season I'm sure. The system he started with was clearly not working so a 3rd of the way in to the season he changed it, and if memory serves actually won the league that year. The fact that we all see the same issues week in week out with this team while seeing absolutely zero changes is frightening! It's sad because I genuinely really wanted it to work with ETH as I have with all of our managers but there comes a point where I'm being just as delirious as him to sit here and continue to fight his corner. A top manager has numerous tactics for different teams and situations. Ten hag hasn’t. He’s lost with this United side. At this point I think I'm ten Hag out. I've been ten Hag in all season and I've been thinking that he just needs to get through this season and reset but I've reluctantly come to the conclusion that even if he is capable, even if he has the right ideas that could work with the right players, I think the club probably needs a fresh start when it comes to the players and the coaching staff.
I don't think a lot of those players should outlast the manager. I think INEOS needs to be ruthless in the summer, even if it means cut price sales. Get as much as we can but don't be precious. If PSG want to offer stupid money for Rashford, take it. If Casemiro and Varane want to fuck off to Saudi, let them. It's not about not liking players or not thinking they could do good, it's about the environment. The core of the club needs to change and that means making decisions about people we like. Previously, I'd never suggest selling Bruno but I'll suggest it now, not because I think he's bad but because we can get money for him and basically, anyone who's been here for more than 2 seasons has been tarred with the toxicity that is Manchester United and for the club's sake and their own careers, there's a lot of players that are better off leaving and if they won't leave they need to be kicked out.

I agree with this. Time for a wholesale refresh. Too many players associated with the grim years since SAF left. I actually think it would be good for Rashford’s career to move on and start afresh. He’s got oodles of talent, he’ll kill it elsewhere I’m sure. As you said, Bruno is quality, but he’s also negative and stroppy. Time to start over.
