Refreshing compared with where I've been. And an interesting contrast in the sides- outnumbered, what appear to be old shotguns and flintlocks, firing cleverly from cover and inflicting outsized casualties, versus greater numbers, better weapons, but also decent use of their firepower to make their advance and suppress the ambushers.
I stand corrected- the Bulgars do seem to have caplocks maybe breechloaders in some cases. Couldn't quite see them all. Good production values here, though, better plausibility than anything that'd be made now although the technology would be flashier.
You dont have to be genius to see the issue in these scene dude. If you have enough brain matter to lube your organ, you would have every right to critisize the movie.

Of course people will take it at face value but it is the historian's job to deal with the products of that. I imagine this was made for Bulgarians to watch and have some pride and fun with the story of their people. So whenever someone is complaining next to you while you are watching a movie remember to say "it's just a fucking movie.".
@kry kry Well I would argue not to look for the side that had "moral superiority" in history. I mean I see it as different groups just looking out for their self interests. I mean the only war we Americans fought against Ottomans were against the Ottoman Vassals of the barbary states over shipping rights. Then again most of the mercenaries our marines hired were Turks themselves. Was there a moral side to this war? Not really just powers looking out for their own self interests.
@kry kryThe only thing you can do is make your own movies from a Turkish perspective. Ultimately movies made by former enemies and subjugated people will not be complementary of the Turks.

Bulgarians created Bulgarian Civilization with Bulgarian language, Bulgarian alphabet Cyrillic and Orthodox Christianity.
Bulgarians spread Christianity and the Bible, translated into Bulgarian language and written in Cyrillic, among the so-called "Slavs" and incorporated most of the "Slavs" into Bulgarian civilization, including the Russians.
All so-called "Slavic" languages are created on the basis of Bulgarian language. Russian language and so-called "Slavic" languages on the Balkans are dialects of Bulgarian language.

Refreshing compared with where I've been. I stand corrected- the Bulgars do seem to have caplocks maybe breechloaders in some cases. Couldn't quite see them all. Good production values here, though, better plausibility than anything that'd be made now although the technology would be flashier.
