You're walking around in a dark bunker with a bloody great light. If there were soldiers around they would have seen you coming a long time ago! This pointless whispering is silly - we can't understand a word you are saying!

They didn't want to scare themselves! And dude.... WHAT is up with the preoccupation with bathrooms? No pun intended...but nobody wants to see that shit!
ultra rare find, I've never seen such a bunker found without being looted. It looks like they were renovating the place and it became mothballed. THE KEYS ARE STILL THERE!
Loving the old bt kit and system x kit. Lots of private lines there to by the look of it. Am I the only one here who would love to restore the place and make it into a great little house to live in? I could spend days exploring this place. Great find and even greater video. By the look of the temporary lighting (yellow cables) someone has been doing some work. I can confirm that's an MOD safe and not easy to pick. I would even have room for servers and there are plenty of lines coming in. I so wish I could buy a place like that! Fantastic, Nice one guys. :) :)
Not sure if this helps at all but in the early 90s (here in leafy Norwich) I was a feature writer for a local listings magazine when an air raid siren went off causing slight panic in the streets. I followed it up and was put in touch with the area Emergency Planning Officer (EPO) who gave me a tour of their bunker, built under the County Hall. No secrecy there. Standard equipment, the computers were ancient , the outward opening blast door was flimsy and there was a lead lined safe in case of EMP to protect the comms. The general feeling at the time seemed to be now the Cold War was over they were stripping out the city based sirens to be used as a coastal flood warning system. The much larger RSG Bunkers were/are sometimes sold off as museums or as secure document stores. Anything on military land - who knows? There was a former military bunker on county council land which was to be sold off. Myself and some mates thought about buying it as an underground music venue but were thwarted by the 14-foot thick concrete walls - 'how the the disabled going to gain admittance and where are you going to put the emergency exit?' Fourteen feet, we'd still be digging it out. Happy hunting but be safe.
thanks for posting the video, now it wont be untouched for long, it'll only be a while before its stripped of everything by scalpers and resellers on ebay.
++ thiswan1 … It's not the govt is loaded but when you consider the age of the gen sets and the lack of spare parts for a unit that is many decades old, it becomes obvious that it will cost more than the scrap value to remove them and at that point not worth the effort to reinstall it because of the age. If you need reliable power it's better to buy a new replacement for installation elsewhere. IOW, one that's not 70 years old and one that still have service parts available. BTW, these gen sets in the video are probably the second go around and are only 40 years old.
Best advice for these types of situations. More likely to get locked into a room or encounter gases that are immediately dangerous to your health. UA-cam confined space entry safety course. Btw thanks for the video. Be safe.
This could be a pretty cool second home nice place for a tornado season in Texas but need to to fix Loose Ends like the Goofy camera work move slowly big tip

Made in 1967 or 87 ...Real Cool man Real Cool
If it was a current mothballed site then it would be secured prob have be monitored remotely etc that place wasn't secured at all it's been left to time until required in future
If it's abandoned, buy the land around it, say about 5 acres, clean it out and move in. There is a very good diesel generator in station, change the oil, and fuel and crank it up. Seems like this is a perfectly good home.
Nice generators... Made by Dale Electric, Filey Road, Scarborough - Not a million miles from here!. They had a lot of Government contracts, and like Petbow before them, used a real Rolls Royce diesel engine on their bigger generators - very reliable machines indeed. And, how about that telephone plant room? There was one hell of a load of Krone IDC cable junction strips in that cabinet - it must have been quite an extensive telephone network that operated out of there. There's still a lot of valuable equipment in that installation, but did you notice that whilst most of the cabling had been removed, the more modern "pyro" cabling was still in situ? One good side effect of pyro cable is that it is virtually worthless to cable thieves. A nice find, but as others have said, camera work lets it down. You never know, if DKT ruffles too many feathers, and after Brexit, we may need these installations again.
Wow surprised to see a place so intact!! Usually vandalism and trash threw out these awesome old bunkers when they left like this!! the reason they stopped restoring it was because of dangerous gas levels, im assuming thats why the door was wide open

Joaquin Maidana you're true. You are a relic saver like me.

The reason it’s untouched is because it resides within an active military training area in Staffordshire.
Rolls Royce engine generators and other things just left abandoned it's a good job that the UK is awash with money! ;) .
