Went to undergraduate school in Teesside and spent quite a few Summers touring the NY Moors. I have seen it through almost every season during those 6 years there and have stayed in several of the little towns that dot the area. Especially loved the early Fall visits when tourists were scarce......in the quiet, windy landscape you could almost picture Heathcliffe in the scenery. Its been 30 years since I last saw the place and I hope to see it again soon.
I like the mix of photographs & video plus excellent wording. You sell this area wonderfully - I live just on the outskirts and love to bike and walk through the Moors and Dales.
I am an Indian and I live in Sheffield. Had this perception that there is nothing as beautiful as India but ... Yorkshire and Scotland are equally beautiful. Yorkshire Moors gives me the feel of being in Valley of Flowers in India and Scottish coast line is like the western coast line of India. People say the weather is gloomy and some even hate it but I love it. The weather is as good as you living in Himalayas. of the north or north east.
Yeah, i live in a town called Bradford in Yorkshire.. its not all heather and sunshine.. but i have to admit i love going to Otley Chevin (google it) and having a cold beer whilst looking across the valley.. If you ever get bored of it, Leeds has the best shops ever :)
to xconversechicx: I think it's gorgeous in the rain too. It depends on the season but when the sky is dark and cloudy and the heather in full bloom.. wow! i have fantastic memories of the moors, north of Manchester, on winter nights, just after or before a visit at The White House, Halifax Road!!! Is that pub still there? That was 30 years ago! I would love to go back, no matter the season! I love Dart moors too. Cheers from France!
Where is the commentary from? It's quite inaccurate to say the area is managed by the park authority. It's largely in the hands of farmers and moorland estate owners, the park authorities do a few works on footpaths such as bridge and stil maintenance.
WAZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA It's all good
There is a legend that William The Conc. got lost in a snowstorm on the NYM during his infamous "Harrying Of The North". There is still the saying around the locality that someone can "cuss like Billy Norman"
would anyone like to house a nice norwegian girl for a few months? I`m in love with the english countryside!! I`ll do most kind of work, to pay for my stay:)
As a Yorkshireman living in western Canada, this brings back fond memories
Thanks for sharing this excellent video which highlights the beauty of my Yorkshire. Well done
places like this signify that people living here know hot to value their environment :)

I live on a mountain in Switzerland with stunning views, but the North York moors for me is the most beautiful part of England.
I lived in the Bavarian Alps some 7 years, but prefer the Yorkshire Dales.
Maybe this was made over 10 years ago but so pleased some things never change
Thank you. All of the images are video, though some may look like photos on this clip. It's a truly wonderful area.
god I love the moors, just 10 minutes from boro too its fantastic.

Yorkshire + Scotland = awesome + beautiful + astonishing + mind blowing + great + I love it. :)
England... what else to say?
It's the most beautiful country, I wish I could travel there.
Nice video. 5 stars!!!!
The Moor calls to mind the Hounds of the Baskervilles. Imagine having to keep looking for loose hounds.
that was Dartmoor ……..... plenty of loose sheep on NYM
Wow. You still remember that hounds of the baskervilles cool bro..

These scenes give me vibes of old english novels
Absolutely beautiful. We don't have anything quite like that in the states.
Most of our vast expansions are heavily wooded. Peace from the U.S.A.
Many areas look like the Alberta foothills .

Yes, I want
That's a very nice pixel you have there
there is a poetry to this landscape that far higher moutains, for some reason, cannot match....I wonder what that is>...
God's own country.
I wanna get lost there...
Pity it's low resolution.
I certainly would :P haha - I live in this area

esteban levillain oui parfaitement
Very romantic, indeed, but at what epoch was it so utterly deforested?
No, it's Alan Sykes.
Beautiful...pity its only 144 quality.
The clip is nearly 10 years old and UA-cam don't allow me to replace the video.
it looks like you could get lost for days in there.....which might not be a good thing!

Long live the Queen..
You mean the queen who stole children from Canada in 1966? 10 Indian children , who were never seen again ? Google it .
yeah whatever
YOu don't think Prince Chas desires some time as King before he dies?
@xian19sarah I will come with you. I've told my parents if I'm about to die, they had better have me air lifted here.
would anyone like to house a nice norwegian girl for a few months? I`m in love with the english countryside!! I`ll do most kind of work, to pay for my stay:)
If you value your life and reason, keep away from the moors, and do not cross over moss.
beware the moon lads, beware the moon
hmm its very nice, but other locations are just as beautiful if not more so
no in réality it's verry beautiful but the sound is very rotten
