Meanwhile, Lexy Halladay-Lowry of BYU in third clocked an NCAA #4 all-time 14:57.63.

I cried for joy thinking how exciting it is that Lexi, who shattered the BYU school record and ran the 5th fastest time ever by a collegiate female, gets to train with Olympian Whitni Morgan who ran a crazy big PR, and Olympian Courtney Wayment (also in this race) and pro runner Anna Camp! BYU is on FIRE! And they will only get better with the Hedengren girls and Angie Alder if she runs there (6th grader who just ran 5:03 this weekend who has 2 sisters on BYU’s team, including Carmen who just ran 2nd fastest time for BYU this weekend and both her parents ran at BYU and her mom was an Olympian)! And Riley broke the record in the mile and Meghan broke the record in the 800! BYU will be UNSTOPPABLE!
I think I can hear Coach T from here 😂. Way to go Cougs!

Lexi ran around 15:02 in outdoor last year but since she was redshirting it didn’t count as the 2nd fastest time by a collegiate runner. It’s too bad the commentators weren’t familiar with her enough to mention her as she finished in the 4th fastest time by a collegiate runner.
Question, why do runners sometimes stop running/ step off the track in the middle of their race?
Usually those are just pacers; they don't run the full distance

It's always nice to have an announcer who has no idea what he is talking about and adds nothing to the coverage.

@@jimoconnor8597 The announcer repeatedly uses "she" before and after "they." If he was correcting a mistake he could have acknowledged it, but did not. "Us people" would like everyone to be treated with respect and to be referred to as they are comfortable with.
