One of amy idle is a refrence to the Archie comics and one of knuckles is a refrence to one of the Edvance games and one of eggmans is a refrence to his pose on the poster

I would’ve liked if they put an outline surrounding her nose to help clarify that, but I’m assuming that’s the best they could do using pixels, considering Amy’s sprite is the second smallest of the playable characters, and how her snout is considerably smaller than everyone else’s, meaning the eye furthest from the camera will often overlap with the nose. Oh well, that’s just a nitpick at the end of the day. I’ve been playing Origins Plus recently and Amy’s sprite work surpassed my expectations. The developers had to animate every frame of every sprite, including bonus stages and she looks as if she’s always been there which is great because I was worried Sega would botch certain animations by delivering the bare minimum, but they appear to have actually cared enough about the smallest details for once. Consider me impressed.

It seems like Sonic Superstars uses the same models as seen in Sonic Origins Plus.
Origins and Origins Plus use Forces models (and newer) so that's pretty cool.
