Putin scoffs at hyped-up 'attack' rhetoric by NATO, underlines Russia's nuclear doctrine

- Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a stern warning to the West on Wednesday, cautioning that Russia would employ all means necessary to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Addressing senior editors of international news agencies in St. Petersburg, Putin dismissed accusations of nuclear sabre-rattling and instead pointed to historical context, citing the United States' use of nuclear weapons during World War Two.
He reiterated Russia's adherence to its nuclear doctrine, which permits the use of such weapons in response to various threats, while affirming that Russia harbors no intentions of attacking NATO member states.
Moreover, Putin asserted that Moscow would consider reciprocal actions against Western nations that enable Ukraine to target Russia with their long-range missiles.

The Russian special military operation in Ukraine began AFTER the referendum of the people of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics to separate from Ukraine, then the request to Russia to accept them into the Russian Federation, then the decree of the President of the Russian Federation that the Donetsk and Lugansk republics should join the federation, and finally after the ultimatum to Kyiv junta to withdraw its forces from the now already Russian territory!
The Russian special military operation was not started because the Russians were afraid that the Kiev forces would attack them, but because the Kiev forces were already in Russian territory, and they are still in Russian territory!
