Correction: I believe the racing is being shown on Discovery +, not Disney +. 🤦♂️ Regardless I'd check it out on Eurosport just to be safe. Happy watching. And if you get a minute let me know what you think of my site: dinghyracingtips.com/
Mickey Mouse sailing on. Disney Channel? Too right! IOC mafia greed on broadcasting rights is sea water bad taste. You can’t even watch replay videos so if your paid broadcaster doesn’t like sailing you can watch Mickey Mouse instead…..
Good vid. Thx. Now a BNE comment, the QLD bid will use > 80% of existing facilities ... consistent with the new IOC criteria that was approved 2.5 years ago for a more sustainable games. QLD are also using a regional format rather than one city only. Brisbane has council, state and federal support which helps spread the cost ... I believe the budget is 5 billion. Compare that to 60 billion for China 2008. Also only the USA has made the Olympics overall profitable... LA 1984. Edit. The IOC also implemented a new 'preferred bid' selection 6 months prior to a final decision. This way cities don't need to try and out bid each other ... spending unnecessarily when all but one city won't get up. That's it's the preferred host city's to loose should it not meet deadlines and expectations. The 11 year timeline allows for a failed preferred bid so other cities can recommence their bids.
@@FastForwardSailing all good. I appreciate that most anti- Olympic movement is jokes (and perhaps satire) but there seems to be growing opinion that BNE didn't 'win'. So trying to keyboard warrior misinfo. PS. BNE/QLD had very stiff competition. Qatar had put Doha up and continued their bid up until May 2021, Germany continued but slowed their bid, Indonesia never stopped. South Africa stopped in 2020 after QLD proposed a regional format... perhaps realising that was a game changer. I don't believe anyone else had an 80% plus utilisation of existing facilities like BNE. I think the 2032 format has created a benchmark. There were other serious bids too e.g. China and South Korea.
Just to clarify, Josh Junior won the Finn gold cup in 2019 (still kinda recent i guess.). but it was Andy Maloney who won recently in Portugal. Andy will be couching Josh in the Olympics
