Finally, someone said it: people need to realize they're not getting their money back when selling their bike.
It's similar in the car world.
If you dump 50k worth of cool parts into a 10k vehicle, it's still only worth 10k.
I just got a used 2024 wired freedom for $850. No way am I buying a used bike without the assumption that I'm going to have to buy a new battery. You never know how people treated them.
Or a little tlc lol in my case solder and wires haha but nice cost for that wired wtf.
Their word
What!!!! 850!!!! That is the ebike I have been wanting for the past few years and I held off and am glad I did because they upgraded it twice and the new 2024 model is awesome!!!! I wish I could find one for that price✌🏼
@@scu-dublooks like the controller and battery can be upgraded to do 55ish
@@scu-dub Good luck in your search. So far it's a pretty awesome bike. The cool thing is, when the battery goes out you can upgrade to a 72 volt and a new controller and get it going even faster.
It's just like a car; If you see a ton of race parts, you have to expect this vehicle was raced. looking at the pegs, grips will give a few clues to how many times it was dropped. but those also can be swapped for cheap.
lmfao who cares if u drop a ebike xD
Just sold one of my ebikes MIHOGO X1 a few weeks ago for $600 with only 350miles - Purchase price 2 years ago $1000 + turtleneck stem and bmx handle bars $170 , new grips, pedals, lights, seat and suspension seat post. The same bike with a different logo now sales for $750 stock.
I own the Aniioki AQ177 Pro Max duel motor ,52v-60amp e-bike. I decided to buy one for my girlfriend and really didn’t want to pay 1400 again so I looked around a platform for used things. People who bought this e-bike a few years ago paid over two thousand bucks for this bike and now they want to sell one, 48v- single motor for 1500 used. When I contacted them to let them know that the bike they are trying to sell cost 999 new they come back with a 900 price. Remarkable how totally idiotic some people are and especially for the person considering buying it for 900. I have learned to do research before buying and I suggest everyone do the same
Wow super fair price at the end 💯💯💯💯
I 100% Agree, anyone looking to sell a modified bike then just revert it back and sell the extra parts!
Let me tell you something,
I once had to sell a Happyrun moped style ebike and included an extra battery but guess what, not a single soul read the description or cared to.
So i decided to sell the extra battery somehow and sell the ebike separate and i made nearly all my money back 😂 Alhamdullillah
Nothing but truth here.I always buy new because of these reasons you said.
i have talaria x3. then is better just to sell the bike stock and upgrade to a new bike vs 72v
love your vids man strait to the point and awesome. I just did my fist ebike conversion, and i put around 230mi on it and crashed it a little hard and error 8 and throttle doesn't work but walk mode does. Going to replace the hall senser and get back on the road. Hope you have a great day. peace
Expect to sell your build 1/3 or 1/4 the of what your total cost was. That being said, best enjoy your ebike so when your ready to let it go you wont feel bad for selling it for said price because you had your fun with it.
Its like used cars/trucks. "Clapped out '99 silverado: asking $20000 has lift kit 24" wheels and straight pipes. Leather seat covers on cloth seats and poorly installed Wal-Mart aftermarket radio. Check engine light is on and power windows dont work. No low balls."
id say it depends on the mods ... you also havta know what the mods are .. some of those upgrades can total out to be more than the bike .. a good investment, would be, too take the hit on price THEN part it out .. then get a mantis... or 3 lol
No bro we aren't paying over msrp because you fucked with the wires 😂😂😂
The problem is that people take that price of their mods, plus the price of the bike stock. Without realizing that with 98% of the population, unless you have a $20k surron that is a literal 1of1 top tier absolutely best parts, with the paperwork to verify it all. As soon as you take it out the box is no longer the stock price. Plus, they tax because they are pricing from an emotional standpoint, how long it took them to get those mods. I'll never buy an upgraded surron. Id rather but stock, new, and but mods. I mean, the piece of mind knowing your parts are not faulty in any way is everything to me. It's the reason i took my bike to a shop to have a tune done to it after i assembled it. They added l9ctite to what needed it and greased what needed it. After that, the amount of stress that was lifted while i was riding was amazing.
Exactly bro i saw someone trying to sell a surron for 15k or trade it for a car
bro how do you ride in the rain? isnt it dangerous for bikes?
Modded e bikes are insanely dangerous because 1 you don't know who worked on it 2 where the parts are from even the first owner might have been sold a knock off without knowing. The batteries in these are no joke and pushed to far or improperly installed can turn it into a fire bomb.
The mistake everyone makes selling upgraded things is not realizing the stock price included the stock components which I doubt they're including since nobody would want them. Easy way to judge a price is compare a brand new bike with the same specs then adjust for used parts.
Wow i bought amyet for 849 (that was with shipping) and sold it for 450 and the kid was so happy
This might change at Christmas time / new years. People try to get rid of the wrong bike ( my grandkids wanted a different brand) or company gift. Those bikes move fast.
Where are you located? I’m looking to buy 3 bikes
Dude not only ebikes just used bikes in general
yea like mountain bikes, be careful yall.
Ebikes are a little different because there are valuable upgrades to make the bike more powerful, something you don't get just by changing the exhaust on a dirtbike, so I can see someone paying the same price on a used bike as a new one if it wasn't beat up and had a bigger battery and controller.
Now the dude that lists all his handlebar/pegs/tires/rims/seat/grips can shove it. A guy tried telling me he upgraded all the parts because the stock parts are all Chinese junk basically. I mean sure I can see that to a point, but you don't bend your handlebars and break the rear linkage riding your bike normally. It has an upgraded controller but meh...without the battery upgrade I don't care. Dude wants $5800 for his bike lol.
If you're looking to build a bike look around I just purchased a brand new moped style e-bike for 550 bucks brand new with free shipping
EXACTLY, all the USED talrias, surrons in my area are asking a good amount OVER what they cost brand new like wth that defeats the whole purpose of buying used😂
How fast does your p51 go?
I agree with this but in some cases with for example surrons if you add a $1000 controller and a $2500 controller and other mods that cost thousands of dollars to upgrade then the bike is going to cost a lot more than stock since theirs so much more power and so much more money into the bike
Meh. Still can’t trust those upgrades were not abused. Especially the battery, gotta assume 50 percent chance gotta replace it. People drop $7k into a Surron and expect it all back. Bro if you fully mod a Surron I would pay $3k max. And a stock Surron used $1.2 to $1.5 k max.
Is all good tho, they can do whatever they like wid they bikes 😂
@@M-dv1yj good luck finding a used Surron for 1.5k
It's just not E-Bikes. People will add something like different pedals, and will claim some stupid shit like it's rare or custom.
I was able to buy a used rumble motors air ss v2 for $3,500 . I think I got a good deal.
Totally great video and subject.
I think it's same with car market no matter how much time you put in and how expensive upgrades are in there You can't get that money back everytime and same with ebikes they think if they put 1200 worth of upgrades their bike now costs $4500 + $1200= $5500-5700 You just can't get that money back anymore once you put in upgrades
Only way you have a shot of recovering anything is returning it to stock and parting the upgrades out on eBay...people are so lazy though
Its also this way with Honda Groms. Its crazy.Im seeing used ones with hella miles up for $4600. New they are $3600. people are stupid.
What ebike are you riding? it looks like a legal one but those speeds look fast. Just curious.
Upgraded used examples (depending on what they are) usually mean aggressive rider and is negative to me. Maybe a ordinary basic ebike from responsible original owner but a 'tricked out' suron from 23 year old? No thanks...
This is why people who sell bikes that high their bikes sit on Facebook market for like a year or two before anybody even buys it and then usually by that time they let it go for $500-$800 less than what they put it up there for Most people and honestly if you looking for a used bike, you better get a used by most these dudes, who doing all these upgrades are pointless because the average person who rides electric bites they just really wanna cruise around town put rates upgrades on their bike, jumping upgrades on their bike like they’re gonna be doing some type of heavy duty riding😂😂😂
sheesh 2 grand for that puppy tho 👀 thas a good deal
"The love of money is the root of ALL evil" - God
But how will I earn money then?
I think people just wanna show off their upgraded bike they don’t wanna sell it
💀
Facts they be tripping
The talaria is prolly only 20ah
theres a local guy trying to sell his surron lbx for 10 grand cause its "a famous tik toker" - he has like 2800 followers I dunno if that qualifies as famous but the bikes modded and personalized out the wazoo
Just like any persons toy is it taken care of is it mint was it lined and service if not it's for sure not worst above its stock price ever. Upgrades if I wanted them I'd get them.
why are you selling the p51
I think he has reached the point where he’s outgrown the ebike/e-bicycle category. The speeds he prefers to ride at, street lighting like turn signals and etc are all things that
Have seemed to make him shift away from e-bicycles
I got that
The reason people post something used for more then the new price is they calculate what they paid for TAX and SHIPPING. The talaria xXx in the thumbnail is $3,150 new but here in California an other states you pay $280 in taxes on it then pay $300 for freight shipping to get it to your front door.
Naw that Xxx used is worth $1500 brah. U worried about a few hundred and we talking about a few thousand 😂
@@M-dv1yj the battery is rated for 15k-20k miles so it's not necessarily high. There's very little maintenance to do also so it should keep value easy. Just have to find the right buyer
@@SyphonGaming bro.. it’s nothing to do with miles. It’s about how long it’s left fully charged, how low the battery was allowed to be discharged and how many times, the temperatures it was used in and stored in and along with those how hard it was pushed in said temperatures and with battery care considered.
I have seen plenty of bikes with bad or so so batteries that have not had too many miles on them. Heck I killed some batteries leaving them over discharged in storage too long.
The battery has a mileage rating for perfect use practices and conditions which we can not garantee. In fact we can assume people do make mistakes and it only takes 1 to hurt a battery.
@@SyphonGaming yeah find a naive buyer u can scam 🤷🏽♂️. No one who knows this stuff and how it works will pay even 1/2 new prices. Unless it’s ur buddies bike and u know how he kept it and used it, then it is easier to charge a bit more.
@@SyphonGaming if you buy a sur Ron from Alibaba you pay like up to 1/2 the price as from USA dealer… saving that couple thousand has risks with warranty and it showing up in working condition. Buying used is equal or as risky as the alibaba buy from a random seller.
You’re not looking at the market, the customer or ethics. You’re just trying to justify selling a bike for as much as you paid for it 😂.
Iz ur bike , do what u want but it is not justifiable in the way your trying to justify it.
are you from LI?
okay buy ur stock bike then be like damn i want to upgrade....and spend just as much
the problem is it's mostly personal preference and people like to customize the bike how they would want it, not how someone else would want it. Some parts can be upgraded for durability i guess but I'd rather break the stock stuff and replace it later than buy something I don't necessarily need now.
people are more in the market for e motorcycles, that's the reason they keep their value
I would buy that off you if I had the money haha😊
The e bike market is dead....
I ran 48v batteries out by 7500 miles cos had to charge tk full for the commute
