I've got PS5 pro and checked out lot's of games for it. Horizon zero dawn, gow, ff rebirth, spiderman etc... All of those look phenomenal. This is right up there with the best, even on XSX so it must be insane on a 4090. This video just isn't showing it off properly. It honestly looks better on my XSX.

I think people equate realism with amazing and that’s not necessarily the case. To me art direction is even more important than great graphics. There also seems to be a lack of atmosphere in this game. RDR2 is far more visually and atmospherically interesting than this game
While Indy is a save vibe, the overall graphics and animation haven’t really evolved since what 2015 games? We don’t need 4k and 8K with reflections inside a tree, make it 2k and bring a true cinematic look to it, bring original ideas and taste. I see this, I see naughty dogs Intergalactic and I’m thinking : what happened to freshness? Where is a surprising lead character that doesn’t look like a Disney prompt (go figure)? Where’s obscure, surprising taste? What happened to winning, but taking a risk first?
The jungle looks crap, ever saw a real jungle? The quality is more than questionable. The dialogs are mehh. "Look out, take care" - thanks for the tip, who whould have thought of that. "Huh a big snake" - indy is scared of this worm? Touching a snake like this, you are dead in no time if its a poisonous one. Oh, lets jump into muddy water, must be fun to see what's down there. Oh great, now underwater the mud is gone thanks to awesome graphics. Life must be boring when one has so much time to waste with such games.
Another first person game. I’m sure it was constructed beautifully and maybe it will sell well. I just wish you had the option to move between first and third person, like in GTA 4.

The AI and overall game experience feels like something made in 2012. Having good graphics is only part of what creates a visually-stunning game. the animations have to be great, too. And in that regard, this game actually sucks. If RDR2 was made in 2018, there's really no excuse for not at least matching Rockstar's quality almost 7 years later. RDR2 literally blows this game out of the water in just about every category, graphics included. It's not even close. And it was made for the PS4, for Christ's sake.
I agree. Given how amazing face animations where in Half Life 2 this feels… not too progressive. Also some water splashing effects looks like PlayStation 3
The on-going lack of subtlety in the face muscles makes the whole thing unwatchable. Otherwise you need a really stoic character like Kronos who has resting-angry-face and it's not so distracting.
Cause this is how the industry works the game is made to seel new gpus. The game will run poorly in old ones, not cause of hardware but beacause with new gpus game companys dont need to optimize the game like it was some time ago.
You lot really don't know what you're looking at do you. How about Raytraced reflection, Raytraced global illumination, hair physics, detailed environments that are fully interactive. These require powerful hardware to run

Also, it's not that easy, making a third person option pretty much requires a complete overhaul of the animation system for indy's every action if you want to make it decent. Sorry, but people suffering from your condition are probably not numerous enough to justify it for that reason only.

recent update broke ray tracing. i have a 4070 super and cant run it in medium raytracing anymore. just completely locks up my system. prior to the update I was able to get it to run with ray tracing on but havent been able to since the latest update.

Game makers will have a hard time making games impressive nowadays. The standards are pretty high. Unless you use a game engine like UE5 or something, the competition is rough.

Remember ps2 to ps3 demo. We saw character moved 360° fluidly and ps2 eras characters move by 45° well that's what we call next gen and it's experience

I'll just say it. All of you who say the graphics aren't that good, clearly have no idea how dynamic shadows and lighting work and you think texture quality is all that matters. I will say this though, this video is not a good example of what the game can actually look like. This video has the contrast up way too high and the best visuals come from inside the cave systems, not outside in the direct sunlight.

DirectX is such a limiting factor in the looks of game graphics. It’s way over due a new platform.
