He was fantastic.I still miss Brian Clough, although I'm pretty sure Brian would be shocked and angered at today's game.Rest in Peace sir.

Brian Clough handled patronising people calmly and intelligently. He deserved so much more from the FA.

Modern football and managers could learn a great deal about handling the Media from Clough.

The arrogance of the interviewers is amazing. I fckn love how clough didnt take anything to heart but at the same time answer from the heart. I would like to learn this. Maybe imma analyse this video lol

Clough to Leeds a great story giving the animosity between Revie and Clough it ended in bitterness but for that period it was great news.

Brian Clough was a great man, a great manager - but so too was Don Revie - his Leeds United produced some of the best post-war football England has seen. Arrogance/belligerence/class!!!

@@jackthegamer4019 When have managers ever spoke the truth to the media about their players. Most things are kept behind closed doors, which is why the media are like flies on shit, trying to get a sniff of anything

Thanks for the upload. Very interesting to see this, on which such a significant scene in 'The Damned United' is based. Quite clear from this that the script was keen to make Clough overly anti-Leeds for dramatic effect. Michael Sheen, I felt, often took Clough into parody with the inflections, though I still enjoy the portrayal and the film. I was more impressed with Colm Meaney as Don Revie, yet he doesn't seem to get the plaudits.

I would have LOVED to have been in the Leeds United board/dressing room when Cloughie first won the title with Forest & THEN the European Cup then he defended it! I bet those idiots & these tosser journalists must have been green with envy & puking! :-D Mr Clough was a very intelligent gentlemen & compassionate man who was old school as ANYONE would be growing up in Britain during WW2 & a declining UK & Empire. He KNEW he would end up in top.

I think he'd have done well at Leeds with Peter Taylor by his side.....he was instrumental in all of Cloughs success.......if.clough was a conductor......then Taylor was definitely the band

You could say he was the singer and Taylor the songwriter or he was the singer and Taylor the Guitarist. He admitted he was the shop window Taylor was the goods at the back.

I do not like people who say one thing and do the opposite. Leeds played dirty? Oh really? And when you played in 1973 with Derby against Benfica and did you tell to drop lots off water on the pitch so that the Benfica players technique could not be used or did you not? And that is playing clean?

    • @mathewrose1662

Tactics. Not breaking somebody's leg or ending their career. I guess Mr Clough had an issue with that when he had to retire VERY early.
