I watched without any expectation and I didn’t even remember it was Mads who was gonna be Grindelwald in this movie. But the moment he stepped into that cafe scene, I was instantly sold. I liked Depp’s version but Mads brought much more depth to the character and you could practically feel the oozing charisma and chemistry of him and Jude Law. Mads’ Grindelwald is just much more mature, grounded (in some way), cold but also passionate about his goal. He could be charismatic in one scene and become menacing the next. Agreed, Mads was really good I didn’t think he would fit but he did a great job as Grindelwald. Then again I’m a fan of Mads Mikkelsen so I’m totally biased lol also here he kinda reminded me of Hannibal 😆
The chemistry between he and Jude was believable. You could tell in that one little moment when he smiles at Dumbledore because he's enjoying the music and Jude smiles shyly. I loved it!
I really love Johny Depp but Mads Miklesen's Grindelwald is just so good and perfect XD his chemistry with Jude Law in this is amazing too. Hope WB will keep Mads for the upcoming sequels cause he is born for this role.
If you think about it, we also didn't get to see Johnny Depp play Grindelwald to the extent of what was shown from Mads this film- I would've loved it to see him in this movie and see what would be different etc etc
@@TooGood4Gamesv1 Why would he play the same part as Mads? We already saw him in 2 previous movies, and his Grindelwald wasn't anything special. Mads makes JD's version easy to forget.
@@Barbara-ij5jo What part of what I just said was too hard to comprehend? What i'm saying is that we've seen more of Mads interpretation of Grindelwald compared to Johnny Depp's, this movie was more vital in terms of showing off the character. I am happy with what we saw from Mads of course, he done exceptional, however. I still would've liked and prefered the original casting.
I first knew Mads in NBC's "The Hannibal" series. He well played a charismatic antagonist in the series and knowing he's about to play GELLERT, I love it even more.. and he nailed! playing the character. The charisma still there..He just made a sexy Grindelwald !
It was a wonderful, perfect decision to pick Mads. I love him. I like Johny Depp and his version of this character but honestly I am glad that Mads took it over because his Grindelwald is much more believeable (not so over the top). And overwhelmingly handsome, too ;)
Yeah Depp's version felt more cartoonish to me whereas Mads brought real depth to the character. I respect that many people feel differently but I much prefer Mads in the role.

A lot of people are complaining about this movie, but it’s definitely the best out of the “trilogy”. I hope the next one is more about Dumbledore, Newt is not the protagonist.
The difficulty is that, in Harry Potter and most other movie series, one primary protagonist is followed and developed. Rowling, in Fantastic Beasts, keeps shifting the focus within the primary hero group. In trying to tell so many stories, we get multiple ‘protagonists.’ Newt hasn’t gotten a character arc yet, three movies in - just a bit more connectedness with others.
I hear you, this story now feels more like it's Dumbledore's story, but I also really like Newt, he's one of my favorite characters out of all Harry Potter movies and I would be saddened if he got degraded into a minor character.

This movie was absolutely amazing and I can't wait for the next one! This was def my favorite out of the series and brought back a warmth and comfort that I felt was lacking in the first two. They did such a great job with this one!
Hope WB keeps up to the 5th film. This 3rd one for me had the satisfying feeling of keeping you on the edge and cheering for the protagonists. Jude Law was sooo good here, the quilin lived up to being a fantastic beast, Redmayne as Newt is still captivating, Mads as Grindelwalt both had grandoise and subtlety, the rest of the supporting casts did a good job and filled the gap for Tina. Please WB, see these films to the finale.
I’ve always wanted Mads to portray Grindelwald. It’s not because I have anything against Johnny Depp, but I just didn’t think that Johnny was the right actor for the role. And I was blown away by how Mads performed in this film. His version was exactly what I had imagined and wanted Grindelwald would be like. And I see a lot of people complaining about Dumbledore taking over as the main protagonist. While I do agree that Newt is becoming a sort of minor/background character of Dumbledore’s and Grindelwald’s arc, I think it is kind of inevitable. We already know from pre-established HP lore that Dumbledore was the one that faced Grindelwald. And I think there is an overall arc of Newt’s character as well, for he is getting more and more involved in all the political conflicts and power struggles. Considering how he was someone who “doesn’t do sides”, I think we are seeing him stepping up and making decisions in the great battle of good and evil. Of course, I’m not saying that that’s enough. The series definitely need to delve into his side of things more, which is why I am eagerly hoping that the next one would focus more on Newt’s character arc (and I especially want to see more of the development of his relationship with Theseus).

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, for me, is really a spectacular and amazing movie. This masterpiece brought me deeper into the different stories of the Wizarding World and explore more about the stories of some known characters. Though, for me, I also suggest that it would be much better if Newt Scamander's story and Albus Dumbledore's story would be shown and narrated in two different series/storylines so that these two great characters would not outshine each other's story. The Fantastic Beasts series, I suggest, should focus more on Newt's story with less Dumbledore on it (Dumbledore could still appear in the series, yes, but just to purely support the main character), and his adventures with his friends like Tina, Queenie, Jacob and also, Theseus, his brother, and of course, with highlights on different magical creatures around the Wizarding World in each and every movie of the series. Another series for Dumbledore, with less Newt on it (But just like what I suggested in the latter, Newt could also appear in this series but only to purely support the main character). That series may show what was the life of the young Albus and the things he did way before the Harry Potter series and of course, the story of how he completely defeated Grindelwald. I thought of these because I believe that the stories that surround Newt Scamander and Albus Dumbledore are so rich; that there is so much more to explore with Newt Scamander as Magizoologist and the different magical creatures of the Wizarding World, same goes with Albus Dumbledore, making them, in my opinion, worthy and deserving of having two different series to show their stories and adventures. However, I'm not against anything or anyone, I just want to express my opinions. Now, going back, I would rate this movie a 5 out of 5, as like I said, this movie is great and worth watching. The casting was great, as well. I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone. To conclude, I extremely appreciate all efforts and time exerted in the making of this movie. Can't wait for the next films to come! Kudos!

He could have easily treated it like just another big paycheck, and done the bare minimum - the way the Marvel cast after the first Avengers phase, ect.....but Jude Law seems to really care about getting Dumbledores motivation and fears across, rather than just looking cool holding a wand.
Its neither ...bcs everybody has theyr own opinion and this is simply your own and that of many others (but many who think otherwise too and thats totally fine on both sides), doesnt make neither of it the truth nor otherwise ,generally speaking. Plus ,it seems like some ppl also cant accept other opinions either , i dont see a problem at all ,if people prefer johnny for the role no matter of he would come back or not . And i guess some people also forget that neither of them (mads nor johnny) were the first to play the role of grindelwald from begin with (even if he just impersonated the first chara ,as he can change his appeareance he should be able to go back to his first appeareance...unless im missing something here about grindelwalds abilitys). The first actor was pretty good for the role too i think.
We all have a different opinion on who we like playing as grindelwald, because even tho mads would fit him better, charming and ofc the accent, Johnny depps grindelwald makes you believe it’s a villain people fear
Mads is the better Grindelwald, because he actually acts like a real human being, whereas Johnny Depp was a caricature first. Flashy, but essentially empty.
I like Johnny Depp but I always feel that he was off from the movie. I couldn't connect with him for some reason but I love the movies so I kept watching. Then we got Mads Miklesen and WOW. He was absolutely perfect!! He and Jude born for this roles. I really wish we can get the rest of the movies with all the current cast. I'm Obsessed!
I love that sentece "because I was fell in love with you". In the HP-movies you aren't sure they was a couple but in this that secret was open. But their is on thing I disagree, that the Slytherins again the evil house.
5/5! Pls more fantasic beasts in future❤️ So great. I wanna see 4th and 5th fantastic beasts🌠 So good story. So good action, with little bit warm love and funny scenes. Wand duels are next lvl. Love it. We want see more and more this. Great Job! Thank you for this movie. Im gonna watch all 3 movies again straight🤓
Not sure why SOME ppl kind of look for an argument about the role for grindelwald (im speaking for some videos on YT who were about the 3rd movie). BOTH actors are good and OPINIONS are different , ofcourse its not going to satisfy all of us. Prefering one actor is not a reason to downplay people who prefered the other actor... Seems like on BOTH sides theres some ppl who dont want to accept other opinions. NONE of the actors was better to me , they were both good in theyr own ways (they are also both just very different in acting so ofcourse the movies will have differencies) To the movie : It was OK for me, i prefered the second movie so far... i always like behind the scenes about Fantasy type movies (the hobbit, harry potter etc) so i did like this short one too. Its interesting to see how they film etc. and to see the REAL backround before they use, for example ,CGI etc.

If only the haters could see all the dedication that went into the making of this masterpiece they'd more appreciative of it!
Yes! Big YES!
This is one of the most wonderful movies, I mean all the details, everything is just perfect
really love Mads
David Ayetes is truthly gentleman talking
Mads is the better Grindelwald, because he actually acts like a real human being, whereas Johnny Depp was a caricature first. Flashy, but essentially empty.
I like Johnny Depp but I always feel that he was off from the movie. I couldn't connect with him for some reason but I love the movies so I kept watching. Then we got Mads Miklesen and WOW. He was absolutely perfect!! He and Jude born for this roles. I really wish we can get the rest of the movies with all the current cast. I'm Obsessed!
I'm just going to watch it and it seems amazing
Mads is the best
I love that sentece "because I was fell in love with you". In the HP-movies you aren't sure they was a couple but in this that secret was open.
But their is on thing I disagree, that the Slytherins again the evil house.
Ok I'm reading the comments and getting goosebumps. I had seen Mads in Hannibal and I knew he would be perfect.
The part about his last minute inclusion got me excited to watch the film again!
I watched it 4 times! I really really really LOVE this movie. I need Dumblemore for the next!!!
I love it, Definitely I'm gonna watch it again
I always found harry potter movies lacking. But fantastic bests series is Fantastic. Love the casting acting and all aspects of these movies.
He was great in the movie hope he returns if the make another one

Love it. We want see more and more this. Great Job! Thank you for this movie. Im gonna watch all 3 movies again straight🤓
fans need Fantastic Beasts 4 and 5
China area is so weird... They translate 'Because I am in love with you' into 'I cherish our friendship'. Totally twist the meaning.
I heard that they had to change the relationship part so that the people would let the movie play in China

今回のファンタビで完全にマッツ好きになった…💞
かっこよかったぁ…
Can't we all just agree that Jude Law + Mads Mikkelsen, is a perfect ship for this complicated romance our dear Dumbledore once had
0:16 I laughed because I saw this scene
Мадс Миккельсен шикарен, Джонни Депп шикарен, Колин Фарелл шикарен, ну и, конечно же, Джуд Лоу шикарен! Благодаря им этот фильм смотрят.
Mads is good in his way♥️
エズラかっこいい…
Johnny was good. Mads is great.
its a shame most of the locations including Hogwarts were CGI. A lot of the original Harry Potter films were shot on location and on hand built sets.
Maybe because the COVID and budget stuff?
The best fantastic beasts. the new gridelwald is so good.
Mads looks main role in this movie
David Yates is a genius
I just hope it includes archive footage of Richard Harris
so sad to see this franchises die like this
At this point, I'll invested enough time I'll have to watch the last two no matter how bad it will turn out.
おもしろかった!ファンタビ見るとハリポタも見たくなる笑
GREAT movie - and MAds did an AMAZING job - and yep - in my opinion - a better Grindelwald
NONE of the actors was better to me , they were both good in theyr own ways (they are also both just very different in acting so ofcourse the movies will have differencies)
To the movie : It was OK for me, i prefered the second movie so far...
i always like behind the scenes about Fantasy type movies (the hobbit, harry potter etc)
so i did like this short one too. Its interesting to see how they film etc. and to see the REAL backround before they use, for example ,CGI etc.
Wait to see this in OTT platform
Puso llegar a ser majestuoso ,si le hubiesen dedicado 3 horas o al menos dividirlas en 2 partes :( :(
But this library! Who else got strong Hannibal vibes?
