She's rather sophisticated in most instances. However, when it comes to managing her household and relating to her husband while he works, she acts like an irritating simpleton.
If anyone in the West even knew who Hello Kitty was back then, it was only a few little girls and their mothers. It would have just been a lunchbox with a cartoon cat on it. The whole world recognized Snoopy then as now.
I like this show, but after watching it for a while, she really can get on your nerves. She's a ridiculous, quarrelsome, bossy, whining. interfering and utterly stupid character. To use one of her own expressions: She's an old bat. He's equally annoying, giving in to her every whim and to all her idiotic demands. I can stand maybe 2 or 3 episodes in a row. After that, my patience comes to an end. I want to smack her, just to shut her up.
So glad I found this series.. Really enjoying it....Thank you....
I liked seeing Mrs Penoir from Fawlty Towers in this episode!
great series

+michelformika Not in the former episodes though!!! It depends on the writer probably.
Hester's character is beginning to grate on my nerves. Here just for Anton
Hadn't they invented plastic wrap in France ????????????????????
The Snoopy lunchbox was a nice touch, but I feel Hello Kitty might have been funnier.

Did Hello Kitty exist then?
Yes. We had hello kitty on rubbers, pencils and tiny notebooks. 1986-7. Never heard of it again for decades!
Hello Kitty started appearing in the U.S. in 1974. I remember how popular it was when I was young.
God knows how they stretched this out for so many series
Makes me nervous
The mind boggles. Try some Valium!
Are we supposed to think that the maid has learning difficulties
No
No, I don’t think so. It is supposed to be comedy, and possibly stereotypical of foreign maids.

Unfortunately thats the real Julia Mckenzie coming out having met her like all minor celebrities she thinks the world is beneath her
@Miki Berge stop watching it then and leave it for those of us who enjoy it
@@smcinerney5175 Oh, really? When I met her, she was graciousness and friendliness personified.
@@jeraldbaxter3532Julia seems such a lovely person. I saw Anton Rodger’s in a play in London in the 80’s he was really lovely man
