Different haircut, dual earrings, mustache coming in, my boy Aaron looking like a K Pop star! Really like the new look. (I’m not saying I didn’t like the old look, I’m just giving him props on experimenting his look.)
Hey that's me in game 2 :) was very surprising to see your name pop up on my screen and even more intimidating to not know how to really tackle Regice lol, had a lot of fun though, love the videos!
Hey Aaron just wanted to say I really appreciate your positive attitude in all these videos! Even when frustrated you still never seem mad and are always able to laugh off any bad luck that happens. It's a really admirable mentality and something I've been trying to incorporate with other competitive games, it's really easy to get upset and frustrated but everything is so much more enjoyable when you're able to laugh off things like that. PS love the haircut!
Undoubtedly buffs, but Regice certainly doesn't have the scales to justify that lol I think it would need to be an identical but differently named ability
I love how he can be up 4 Pokémon at full health and he’s going up against someone’s last Pokemon on half a HP of health and he says “it’s not over yet” love the commitment to always playing correctly
There have been so many mons in S/V vgc i never thought id see get time to play. Its been awesome. Feels like so many previously non-viable mons are finding niches to shine in. Your new style was a surprise too, you look great in earrings man 👌
There is one funny parallelism between Regirock and Regice, where the former gets a 50% Sp. Def boost in sand, while the latter gets it, but Defense and in snow
@@protonjones54Huh ? Dafuq. They added a def boost, not a spedef one, and that was made because it's snow and not hail anymore. Since it doesn't deal damage, it has to bring something to the ice types who bring that weather because it was way too weak in comparison with the other weathers. It literally has nothing to do with regice specifically. What are you talking about ?
Hey Aaron, love the videos - just finished Game 2 and it’s just so fun to see you pilot a team of quite unorthodox Pokemon to success. Always the highlight of my mornings watching a battle or two with my breakfast!
I wonder what dual weather Tera Rock Regice and Tera Ice Regirock would be like. You could choose with both Pokémon and weather combinations which defense type you want to get cracked out. Tera Rock Regice in Sandstorm takes like 15% from Choice Specs Tera Fairy Moonblast from Flutter after Amnesia Edit: With Tera Ice Regirock proccing Kee Berry and Iron Defense in Snow gives it a defense stat of 825 with no investment. It takes 11% from Rillaboom Wood Hammer
I've been personally running a Regice set with Charge Beam, Focus Blast, Leftovers and Tera Ice and getting some massive games with that It can easily survive long enough to get a boost if the initial Charge Beam doesn't produce and Tera Ice makes its Blizzard absolutely insane Though your set seems a lot less gimicky and I'll be giving it a look
QOTD: Regieleki: - ability is now Clear Body - hidden ability is now Transistor Regidrago: - ability is now Clear Body - hidden ability is now Dragon's Maw Registeel: - hidden ability is now Steelworker Regirock: - hidden ability is now Stonemason - Stonemason(new ability): powers up rock moves by 50% Regice: - hidden ability is now Cryomancer - Cryomancer(new ability): powers up ice moves by 50% Regigigas: - hidden ability is now Clear Body - is now a restricted pokemon Let me know what y'all think
I’ve been running av regice with slowking support and it works out really well. I just invest 252 hp then split the rest between defense and SpA. It never dies and with the ab you can yank some crazy things (Tera fire chi-yu choice specs overheat is a 2 hit ko and thunderclap is a 12 hit ko lmao) and with the defense boost from snow you become physically bulky as well
I was cooking with regice too, but more of a stall variant. Max HP max Def in the snow with aurora veil simply doesn't die, especially with double healing from leftovers and icebody. I'm excited to see an more offensive build, played by a more skilled player than myself :P
Maybe one way to make Freeze feel better is, instead of making it look like Sleep (roll a D3 and that's the number of turns it stays), make it so the first turn it's got a 1/6 of thawing, next turn it's 2/6 and so on. Basically becomes a 6 turn max effect, which is a lot, but also scales the chance of thawing so much more quickly than just a 1/5 chance per turn. For reference, while the first turn has a better chance for the former method (0.2 vs 0.167), already in the second turn it's an improvement (0.36 vs 0.44). And the third turn is already a good chance of thawing (0.49 vs 0.72). (Former vs Latter)
I would buff the Regis by giving them Recover across the board Give Regice Calm Mind so it can reliably set up Give Registeel something like Filter or Unaware as a hidden ability rather than Light Metal, as well as Swords Dance and Nasty Plot so it can set up both of its attack stats Regirock could have Sand Force as a hidden ability to make it more of a physical counterpart to Regice (great power in a specific weather while having a few exploitable weaknesses to keep it in check), or Sheer Force if we're just gonna go nucking futs with it And Regigigas could have Ball Fetch or something as a hidden ability
Aaron, thank you for doing 1 of the 2 ideas I have been thinking about! I've been shouting about regice since they changed hail lol. You should definitely try an excadrill team next. Jolly max speed w/sand rush outpaces max +1 flutter mane by exactly 1 speed lol
As a kid, I grew up loving Regice for some reason. I would give Regice Intimidate, snow warning or a new ability like Dragon's Maw, but an ice version. His current ability doesn't suit his move pool. Also, his move pool is atrocious. He needs something like trick room, recover, perish song, will o wisp, fake out, haze, etc. to use as a support. Imagine if this thing had intimidate, fake out, parting shot, trick room... Just some ideas. Maybe that makes him too strong LOL but you get the point.
QOTD: the Regis were always in correlation to one another. One has high Def, one has high Sp Def and one is mixed. In addition we got two more that also have one stat each in which they specialise. Honestly it's not really the Pokémon needing a Buff itself like some other Pokémon. Entei for example is wonderful right now, but not got something new, but because the current game environment simple enables it to do what it always wanted to do. And that is something where I see the Regis as well. Don't really change them. Maybe not even new moves, tho that is always appreciated. Set them in a game where they can do what they need. A system where regirock can utilise it's high defense with a legit place in an otherwise heavy physical meta without urshifu. That alone would change a lot
qotd: 25 more attack and sp attack for regirock and regice respectively, 25 for both for registeel. I like the idea of th two new regis being more offensively based with signature moves, so i think the original three should have defensive signature moves. all recovery moves, Deep Freeze for Regice, Stone Scavenge (name wip) for Regirock and Mercurial Growth (also wip) for registeel.
Would it make more sense to run Abomasnow over ninetails. It felt like you were always struggling to get auror veil up so why not run a bulkier mon that matches up better against ogerpon?
QOTD: i think it'd be really cool if they all had abilities like the gen 8 regi duo, boosting their STAB. Alternatively, each could be granted a signature move in the vein of Blood Moon, i.e. 140 BP but cannot be used twice in a row.
Id really like to see the old regis get the same treatment as the newer ones- give them an ability that buffs their stab and give them a cool signature move.
In Game 3, could you have clicked u-turn into Ninetails instead of hard switching? Covers for the chance Tornadus would use rain dance, and since it’d be priority with prankster, Ninetails would come in after
I wonder if it would be worth running specs on the regice - it feels like you almost always wanted to just click blizzard, and with regice' monstrous special defense and the snow defense boost, life orb was doing a very large percent of the damage regice took.
I randomly came across watching someone play this team on showdown last few weeks and he/she did so well with this team. not sure if that person still plays the team, havent seen it in a while. Pretty cool to see it here.
a great team showcase, though i have one question. I don't understand why you didn't consider uturn with landorus on turn 1 of game 3. Maybe I missed it, but you didn't mention uturning and just went straight to a manual switch. I'd like to learn the reasoning for that. I could see being a bit wary of wanting to uturn the ogerpon cause of spiky shield, or maybe if torn has protect, but i feel that even with the potential spiky shield chip your best move was still to uturn ogerpon. not trying to be rude, just confused
U-Turn loses to Tailwind and Tera Oger Ivy Cudgel into the Landorus slot - Landorus will just faint then without getting U-Turn off. Manually switching conserves Landorus without taking any damage
I would still play Regice - Rillaboom with Grassy sees instead Modest nature with Protect, Body Press, Charge Beam, Ice Beam 252 Hp 212 Def 44 Spe Att Total stats 220 Def boosted by Grassy seed and you can use Body Press 220 Spd 138 Spa and the idea is to spam charge beam and boost Spa Clear body and Electric Terra Any other defensive terra would work, depending on the meta
Regi Buffs: -Regirock: Gets Stone Body as a HA (immunity to Rock-type moves, is healed by 1/4 of max HP when hit by Rock-type move, removes Stealth Rock and is healed by 1/4 of max HP when switching into it). -Regice: Gets Permafrost as a HA (Takes 1/4 damage from Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel-type moves, effectively turning its weaknesses into immunities). -Registeel: Gets Smelted Body as a HA (basically Well-baked Body with another name). -Regigigas: Slow Start is retooled to start with Attack and Speed lowered by 2, but it gets a free Dragon Dance at the end of every turn on the battlefield.

New haircut and the earrings look good, dude.
Cool to see Regice do some work, these kinds of niche picks make for great battle videos.

That ice block really popped off
give the Regis all a unique ability & signature move like how Regieleki & Regidrago got

Modest nature with
Protect, Body Press, Charge Beam, Ice Beam
252 Hp
212 Def
44 Spe Att

220 Def boosted by Grassy seed and you can use Body Press
220 Spd
138 Spa and the idea is to spam charge beam and boost Spa

this a classic. regice more like regishiest shoutouts agency
Hey @cybertronVGC I am just curious how do I get a team featured? Is there any specific requirements?
Ive been hoping for a regice video
I faced a Regice team on Smogon VGC once, and I got cooked by it, or soft-served. I guess REvenGICE is a dish best served SHEER COLD. Bad pun lol.
nice earrings lad
How much do I have to pay you to get hour long videos of all the regis? They're by far my favorite legendary Pokemon
Best Thursday ever. 🎉
I really look forward to your uploads❤
My boy found that cybersauce
Why was Metagross floating?
All we need now is Regirock to be good 😭😭
Nooooooo don't spoil my strategy a week before Dortmund regionals 🤣 Regice is the big surprise factor!
My boi done turn into an idol sheeeeshh
Do you offer coaching services?
I feel like tinglu could be fun beside regice too lol
