Years ago I had an early 90's SN with a modified 650. Pro-tec head, Pro-tec porting, dual 38mm mikuni carbs with Pro-tec manifold, Factory Pipe Type 4 dry pipe. It was fast as hell. You are so right about the handle poles. I broke 2 stock poles with just lake riding...no surf. Man I miss that thing.
Awesome video! Picking up a 1990 one owner square nose in a couple days! Super stoked. Sold my Wb1 last summer and have come to regret the decision. Hopefully the superjet fills the hole in my heart 🤞🏼
I rode my 93 superjet for 5 years ... We practice every week on the lake riding a course we made with 2 gallon jugs... I made it to Havasu and made it to pro... I met about it the greats .. jeff jacobs, chris mackug.. chris Fishetti .. christy carlson .. ripper , and many others... I think the diff is ... The Square nose bit harder on turns ... The round nise felt lighter.. and i hard to shove the round nose for turns...
A few days ago I accidentally wiped my ski down with xylene the gelcoat still looks great no damage should I be worried about damage in the future caused by my mistake thanks
How can you tell a 650 vs 701 ? Is it stamped on the heads of case? I am going to look at a 91 square nose this weekend and want to confirm it's a 701.
Just bought my first superjet, a good taken care of square nose. After doing some research.. should I be concerned about the waterlogged issue these skis are prone to?
Squarenose has a lower center of gravity estimate with a round nose pole. Super forgiving to ride with tubbies and pole swap. They work great if you rocker them and in my opinion they look better rockered than a round. Just reinforce in the right places.
That’s an interesting question! I would say the FX1 has more parts that can be found on a round nose, although the hulls are very different. It would be awesome to feature one on our channel at some point!
One thing you guys forgot to mention is that one looks ugly as hell. Especially the nose and the angle of the hood. I have heard that people have said SNs and 96-07 RNs handle very similar since both have the same exact bottom deck, but I’ve heard that people said that the new bond line on the 96-07 RN makes it more stable or something? I myself have a 2018 RN, but a few years ago I did ride a 1997 RN and a 1994 SN, but I can’t really remember how they handled differently since I was still learning how to ride stand ups, but I had a 650sx back then, and I don’t remember the SN and the RN handling a whole lot better then my 650sx. My 2018 handles better then all 3 of though skis though.
I have a clean 1990 Superjet 701 Dan Lamey bored an ported race motor, MSD total loss ignition, Skat Trak race pump, Pro-Tec trim nozzle, dual 46 Mikuni carbs, race pipe, and much more. Hole shot king! Anyone interested?
@@Snarf_Le_Wombat LOL the part of the hull effecting how the ski handles and rides is exactly the same so this only matters to you if you are one concerned with how you look. Personally, if you are riding a square then you are either getting into the game in maybe a more practical way, OR you are a baddass shredder OG, OR you simple don't give a fuck what others might think.
Idk, We’ve seen people on the podium at Surf Slam on a SN. The rider is much more important than the gear in my opinion. A SN with a proper length RN handlepole and decent steering/bars/throttle is a pretty amazing set up. Save all of the Superjets! 🤙
Cool vid! But not knowing jack about jet skis, I could benefit from a "Jet Skis for Dummies" vid, covering the basics from a 10k ft perspective.
We’ll do it! Thanks for the idea Quint!
@@RSKI thats was a lie
Hahaha fair enough!

Ya a round nose handlepole conversion on a square nose is ✅

Welcome to the Superjet family! I think you’ll enjoy it even more than the Wave Blaster!
Thanks guys, I learned some things today and my brain is bigger now
Sick video! Need another video restoring that crusty square nose to its former glory!
We shall do it!
Great explanation of the differences of both kinds. thanx
Thanks for the support Gabe!
Great video guys
Thanks Brad! The encouragement helps us want to keep more videos coming!
I have a 94 sj I love the educational video I learned a few things and I have been riding for a while drop some more videos
Working on it right now!! Thanks for the support!
Can’t wait to see that square nose on the water again!
Summer is coming!
That square is sick mate 👌
🤘🤘
Buena Onda 🙂...se nota que son amigos de verdad !! Thank you for the video..
Claro que si mi amigo!

I think it’s not a big deal. Maybe wax it and call it good!

Does the year and engine size matter or the nose shape? What is the best ski for a new rider
1996-2020 Superjet. 🤙
Just bought my first superjet, a good taken care of square nose. After doing some research.. should I be concerned about the waterlogged issue these skis are prone to?
If someone cut the tray to install footholds or anything, it is probably waterlogged. If it’s stock, it’s most likely dry.
My first stand up was a 91’ SN! Best stand up to learn on!
Long live the square!
No that's the 550
@@Snarf_Le_Wombat 550 isn’t as wide as the SN, it’s more nimble, but less stable.
@@wellsfirst64 Right so it's best to learn on. If you can ride that then you can ride any.
When r we gonna see a video on the new superjet
We’d love to, but haven’t even had the opportunity to ride one yet!
@@RSKI lol if you’re in Michigan I’ll gladly let u ride mine
That would be fun!
I’m in Utah, you can ride my 23’
Any differences in the engines?
Yes! The square nose has a 650cc and the round nose has a 701cc
riding and handling ???
Riding is rather subjective, both skis are great! 08+ round nose with handling mods is our favorite.
I have bought products from y’all before, my buddy broke my hand pole , u said y’all could fix it and how much if so??
Working on this a handle pole shortening/repair video, stay tuned!
Team Round Nose
😍😍😍
It’s hip to be square!
Square is cool too, I just have a round nose.

Rock on dude! Gotta love all Superjets!
So it's worse in every way... Got it
is the fx1 more a square nose or round nose??

FX1 is Yami's crossbred JS550 and a SN
