This is so cool!!! I didn’t realize just how many deliberate decisions you have to consider when creating comic book art, it’s really interesting to watch. You were spot on about the glance vs the head turn, her final expression really conveys her curiosity about him but doesn’t give her state-of-mind away. Same goes for the cloud, a round shape sort of conveys harmony but the striated clouds really sell the discord that’s well balanced against the harmony of the beautiful fall background. Never gives away what’s to come and I love it! Thanks for showing us that it’s possible to balance art with a day job. Can’t wait for more!
Yes! There's quite a lot that goes into producing a good cover. I'm glad you agree about the head positioning, that's so cool that I'm being understood ah! Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment, feels super validating, I really appreciate it.
Loved the video vibe! It's like I'm doing my stuff in the same room w a friend who sometimes tells me insteresting things and I can look up and see them making progress on their project. A lovely feeling if you ask me.
I love watching creators create! (Since I'm usually working while they are.) So I'm curious, do you read other comics currently? Do you have a favorite?
Me too!!! Currently I’m reading a lot of non fiction history books at the moment. As far as comics go I read manga--the last one I re-read was Vampire Princess Miyu
It’s hard to give a favorite but I’m really loving Witch Hat Atelier and I’ve started One Piece-both are great! My all-time favs are Cardcaptors, Immortal Rain, and some shoujo manga I can’t remember their names atm
The cover came out really cool, I loved seeing your process. Great job, and I also enjoy watching everything come together. Def. considering patreon... never done that B4.
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you liked the final cover :) Let me know if you have any specific questions about patreon, I’m not sure if you mean you’re considering patreon as an artist or as a supporter.
Loving these videos, every time one pops up in my feed its a treat! Comic process videos are always interesting to watch and seeing it all come together is so satisfying, although for us theres no stress involved 😅 Definitely made the right decision on the cover illustration.
That’s awesome! Thank you for tip 👍 and thank you for watching and getting excited and leaving such a nice comment, I can’t wait for you to see more the story only gets better.
@@JGVIllustrations I read the first two chapters on webtoon and LOVED them!! You say there that you studied a lot about what makes good stories engaging and it really shows in your writing ❤️ have a great day!
@@AK-is4vlI don’t get notifications for replies so I’m just now seeing this, wow thank you for reading, I’m so glad you liked it and that you could see my hard work 😊
what if you somehow combined both, she is laying down with her sword, but up in the sky we see the two of them back to back, as if she’s thinking about them or it’s on her mind? it’s train of thought, and tells a story
That’s worth considering, I’d just be afraid that that’s a lot going on for a cover and hard for a reader to understand. That’s the fun of covers--so many possibilities
My literary agent is showing it to publishers right now. If one of them buys it, it may be available at bookstores in a few years. If not, I will self-publish--a graphic novel will be available either way, but wish me luck that it’s taken up by a publisher 😊🤞
One question I have about making art into a book, what is the legal and financial aspects of it that you’d advise others to be ready for if they want to attempt it?

When you finish your comics, where will it be available?
My literary agent is showing it to publishers right now. If one of them buys it, it may be available at bookstores in a few years. If not, I will self-publish--a graphic novel will be available either way, but wish me luck that it’s taken up by a publisher 😊🤞

Legal and financial aspects? Could you be more specific, it’s too broad of a question 😅
Amazing drawings! What resolution is the file you are working on, does it have to be 4k or something to meet the purpose?
I think it’s at 600 dpi, which is pretty high. I don’t think it’s necessary. ~400 dpi should be perfectly fine for a medium-detailed illustration.
@@JGVIllustrations Wow I thought 300 dpi is large, what to say about 400+...
Thank you!
ooooooo
