That’s solid information!!! I did find that when I mount them on my YOLOtek Powersticks in the summer I have to pull the batteries out to keep them from shutting down on over temperature
If you have them on the power sticks and the battery is out, if you can leave the door open without water able to get in there, it’ll allow the air in to cool the unit. Those 4K and above settings really get that processor working. It’s not an issue for most sports enthusiasts recording a few minutes at a time, but with the way we record it definitely heats it up quick!🔥
They make an aftermarket door with a hole for the cord and YOLOtek provides a silicone material(basically swimmers earplug) you just mold around the cord to seal it.
Great video, I have used some of these, but learned a few more today. I do leave the beeps on as they really help me know when I am recording and when I am not as I don't leave the camera on all of the time.
Can't tell you how many times the auto off has saved me from not recording anything at all. I often forget to hit record, but it shuts off, and reminds me I was going to have no footage whatsoever. Been thankful for this setting.
Did you try to press the mode button for more than 3 seconds and take your hand off it? It is the best method to prevent battery discharge. Try it and you will be delighted.
Good tips. I do it a little differently but still good to know the options. I also thought looping mode was great until I forgot to hit the button a few times after catches lol. I like the voice control and beeps. I also rarely use the internal batteries. I bought a long charging cable, a battery bank, and a replacement battery door from amazon. I could probably fish all day for 2 days on a single charge. Good job on this little series!
Has anyone been able to get an hour+ recording time on the Go Pro 10? I’ll be taking a discovery flight lesson and would love to have the whole experience captured without having to worry if it’s recording or not while paying attention to everything XD I’m planning on shooting 2K at 60 frames with some of the suggested settings.
I’m getting around an hour in loop mode, filming at 30fps at 4K. This is with the enduro batteries. I usually use the Volta, so that can add around another 4 hours on top of it.
It’s funny, I use a lot of those settings while fishing. The lights and the beeps, the stabilizer…. I guess that’s why I need so many batteries! Lol. I’m not that tech savvy.
I’ve found I don’t need the lights, but the beeps help. The stabilization in the reduced modes really do a better job than I thought, but then again I’m not on a dirt bike or something that’s really taxing it.
These settings will improve your battery life, but overall recording time will also be dependent on what resolution you are filming at and what frame rates you choose. You may get 5-10 minutes, possibly more. With the new Enduro batteries, I am seeing about a 20% improvement in recording time.
They will be hiring you soon for the next GoPro mate after seeing your short 👍🏼 These are some awesome tips here mate thanks for the tips Never even thought about changing the brightness haha Definitely a great idea to get as much recording time as possible especially on some of my adventures Definitely need to try my wireless off as well when not using it But some of these I better leave on hahaha I have forgot to record a few times now
It’s like closing out all the apps on your phone or closing out processes on a computer. These devices have a lot of features running by default, or in the background, as a convenience so the device works “optimal”. Those settings do come at a price, because with the processing comes battery drain. I’m sure there’s some things I missed along the way, especially on the 10 since it’s new, but I hope this helps people out.
@@live2fishofficial hahaha I completely get that but don't be surprised if you get a call from the home shopping channel hahaha You just have a good voice for it and give great detailed explanations Keep up the great work mate
In my experience withwith gopro 10 at 4k30fps my battery is drained after 30 min :/ it literally goes 3% down every minute. And they saying that gopro 10 should last 2h10 min with 4k 30 fps...........I guess I have to go back to 1080p recording on extended battery mode...😖
@@Voltomess I run on 5 minute loops, that way I don’t have to search through hours to complete my edits. From the time to cast, hookset and bringing a fish in, it’s usually around two minutes, so I know I only have about three to edit out.

I do too, I wish they had an extra loud option like an air horn for my old ears lol!

It’s little changes that they make that makes the difference for sure.
Awesome thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Why is the battery saving mode not available for looping??
Probably because in loop mode it’s constantly recording.
Great advice, I would like to take my GoPro on a bike ride some day but the default settings are so unfriendly, I'm lucky to get 5 minutes.
Thank you! Which version do you have? The new Mini might be best for that.
Did you try to press the mode button for more than 3 seconds and take your hand off it?

How do you shut the front screen off on the GoPro 10?
In the Quik app settings “Front Screen Options” choose “Screen Off”.

Awesome video I’ll definitely have to use a few of these I didn’t know to get a longer battery life out of my GoPro!
Every little bit helps with these power hogs!
Can the front screen be controlled independently and turned off completely in the hero 10?
Yes
