    Exceptional review of your build. Outstanding presentation and I especially appreciate that you took the extra effort and additional time that it surely took you to provide a parts ID list and timeline in your comments section below the video. It's those extra details that has earned you my subscription. I look forward to watching your other videos, knowing (now) that I won't miss any of your future offerings.

I currently shoot in King Of 2 Mile with 375 Cheytac and I want to try something for our off Months from Sept thru Feb.in 22LR Extreme Long Range.I have BNergara HMR Pro in 6.5 PRC so I like Bergara. I bought the 10% stronger firing pin spring for my 455 after I had some failures to fire. But I equate that issue with a dirty bolt (firing pin / firing pin channel). I cleaned it up and it was firing fine with the OEM spring. I went ahead and put the 10% spring in anyway after I received it.

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  4 роки тому

      Ya, I try to keep my bolt pretty clean, I definitely clean it more than my barrel. Running into issues with the bolt whether it be light strikes, extraction, etc. during a match would be a nightmare.

    Just landed on your channel and loved what I've watched so far. I have a cz 457 with stock barrel. The gun shoots pretty good with it but im wanting to possibly switch my barrel. So my question is... will I get tighter groups switching to an international barrel similar to what you built into your gun and what's the difference between the 20" and 22" barrel?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Unfortunately I can’t post a video with anything UA-cam could consider a modification of a firearm, they give firearms channels heck for that. But you’d need an aftermarket trigger spring like the yodave I have in mine. You can also find instructions on how to replace the spring on yodave’s website

    I know you have the strike eagle on the rifle now, but we're you able to zero the rifle with that 55 moa scope base and the diamondback tactical you took off of it? Thanks! And great videos! Keep them coming!

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  3 роки тому

      I never tried the DBT on the scope base, it would be pretty close. I have a buddy who runs a 20 moa base + ~25moa in the Burris XTR rings, he's about 1 mrad from the bottom of the elevation. It might not have enough elevation to zero with the 55moa base. He has the 6-24x model.

    You don't need this caliber, well actually, you do.....rich! Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing more on your wife's rifle build. Why did you change out your extractor?

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  4 роки тому

      Haha yeah, that tripped me up! I was noticing issues with the last spent casing not ejecting properly, it would sit on top of the mag after extraction. This was after thousands of rounds, after replacing the extractor and holder, no issues.

    • @FishOn1
      @FishOn1 4 роки тому

      Womfat interesting. Mine is doing exactly the same thing. I thought maybe I was just not working the bolt as well when I knew it was the last round. I’ll try another extractor.

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  4 роки тому +2

      @@FishOn1 Talking to some other 457 users, it seems to be a fairly common issue. Some show this when they're new. It's not ahuge deal since the last case falls out with the mag, but I wanted to avoid it if possible.

    Hi, I replaced the magwell to DIP aluminum one too, but I found it does not fit in MDT ACC chassis. Once the back of the action seated in recoil lug position, the front part of DIP magwell can not seat in ACC chassis. I found that the front of DIP magwell(close to the front action screw) is a little bit larger than the factory one. Did you have this issue? Thanks,

    I particularly appreciate your videos, especially those where you describe your equipment and the reasons for your choices.
    I’m French shooter and I also have a cz 457 mounted in an MDT ACC chassis. I ordered the aluminum DIP magazine holder (DP-19048). I received it this week and I mounted it this afternoon. When I wanted to put the action back in the chassis, I have a problem, I can't put it in normally. At first sight, the front part of the magazine support, where there is the hole for the screw, is thicker than the polymer one. I will take a closer look but my question is the following, did you have to modify the DIP support to be able to install it in the MDT ACC chassis?

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  2 роки тому

      Yes, I had to remove some material to get it to fit in the chassis

    • @pifgadget9443

      @@Womfat Thank you for answering quickly ! Did you modify the charger support or the chassis directly?

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  2 роки тому

      I took material off the DIP

    • @pifgadget9443
      @pifgadget9443 2 роки тому

      @@Womfat Indeed, it is at the level of the front mounting bracket of the magazine holder that DIP has not machined the part in the round as on the original, they have left two small angles which do not allow assembly without modification in the MDT ACC chassis. I took over the precision file part and now it fits perfectly in the frame. It wasn't much, but it's hard to tell without trying to ride it. I find it unfortunate that DIP is not exactly taken from the design of the original part, especially since the machining would not be really different.
      Thank you again for your answers which allowed me to realize the problem more quickly!

    Just a heads up, your scope have 110 moa in total, and if you are using a 55 moa base, that means you are basically using the scope to its elevation limit, that is a bad idea, the scope will not be as accurate in terms of returning to zero, even if you did the box test, your scope will be more likely to have issues with that kind of turret elevation.

    • @Womfat
      @Womfat  4 роки тому +1

      I've done tracking tests with it in this configuration, no issues from what I've seen. I'm aware of some scopes that do not track consistently on the extreme ends of their travel, but this doesnt seem to be the case with the Strike Eagle. I have no concerns of that

      I’m currently debating between the 457 and a B-14 barreled action from Brownells. $650 for steel and $750 for a
      Proof carbon. I already have an HMR so stock and bottom metal are interchangeable as are my two carbon stocks and my triggers and bases.
      But I’m not sure because the 457 just looks to be smooth as butter and no shortage of aftermarket gear either. I can buy a blem 457 for around $400 and go from there.
      The difference may be the number of aftermarket barrels available for the CZ. The Bergara is lacking in that department.
