I told her that I attended her father's memorial service held at Rankin Chapel when I was a music student at Howard University. I remember when Stevie Wonder sent a beautiful acknowledgement to Donnie. She laughed when I told her that the music professors at Howard were tough on us because of the success of their former students Donnie & Roberta.
what I think it means is....we go through so much that we cannot let stress and the drama in our lives overwhelm us. sometime it feels as though life is heavy, we lose direction, we lose faith...but she is saying to believe this is only temporary and to breathe....pull yourself together and keep moving. don't give up...the things we go through usually makes us stronger...and/or the lessons are not for us but for others who are watching us deal with life as it is presented. allowing the God in you to shine...it's gonna be alright.
