Yeah. He seemed kind of like a good person and yet his actions completely dehumanize him. His actions were completely horrible and monstrous and yet he doesn’t seem that bad. It Pretty elegantly expresses No cost too great.
No one actually knows what happened to the Pale King, but this is a great theory video+music video. I also like the detail in the knights, like Ze'mer and Isma, even though we don't know what she actually looks like from a full view. Beautiful video.
Almost everyone points to Void. You can even see Void particles in his throne room. Some think it might be dust bet dust particles are small and fade slow. The Void particles are big and fade fast. And in the throne room, the particles are big and fade fast so Void.
i imagine the hardest fights would be dryya and ze'mer. Ogrim's strength seems to rely on crowd control, so Ogrim vs the knight probably would be the easiest of the 5
The whole video is so amazing! Everything is so detailed and I love that there is a ton of movement, especially towards the end! Btw, the Pale Kings little hands at 3:22 always make me giggle. I don’t why- they’re just, I don’t know, adorable???
1:31 has to be my favorite image in the video. The White Lady looks so god damn innocent, god I wish I could just give the Pale King and the White Lady a hug; if I was King’s size.
Debatable. Did he want to save the people, or prolong the life of his ‘perfect’ kingdom? We’re his actions done out of kindness, or out of attempt for control? PK is the kind of ruler god to say that he and only he may sit at the top. Shaman’s power? Shunned. Lifeblood? Banned. Wouldn’t be surprised if he knew what he was doing when the moths were convinced to abandon the Radiance...
_Honest to God, The only thing that this animation needs, Is a shot at the end of the Pale King sitting in his throne, while the life fades from his eyes and the throne room gets consumed by Darkness_
I watched it like...hundred times already... but it still caught me off guard? Like, 2:10 I never noticed that he like, modeled his... friends? in his isolation. Like, geez, harsh??? Esspecially because I like this guy. Like, I was happy to die, just to go in direction of his voice again XD
YOO WHAT this is so amazing?? I thought the storyboard was fantastic by itself, and most artists leave videos like that completed as they are (which is completely understandable. Art is hard) BUT YOU FINISHED THIS AND IT TURNED OUT SO GREAT
All I can say is I’m so happy this exists. Since this video I’ve seen so many people doing this same kind of but this has always been one of my favorites, and weather it was just by association or it actually being a good song touch tone telephone has become one of my favorite. Also first this isn’t a critique just an idea but wouldn’t have been cool if he looked at peace for like one little second as if he was saying to himself the line he’s remembered by “no cost to great” and that includes his life... idk just though of it and though it was cool sounding...
The story of a plastic fork finding out that committing genocide on your own children usually does not to help too much in a fight, and thus lost a war against an angry fluffy moth. But hey, he’s a plastic fork, how was he supposed to know that?
One small detail I like to believe is that the pale king was quick to anger and quite stubborn at times. My reason for this is the behaviour of the kingsmolds which he created (and since they are made of void that personality in them must have come from their creator)
THE FINISHED PRODUCT THE THING THE THING ITS HERE ITS RIGHT HERE AND ITS BEAUTIFUL HOLY SHIT??? YOUR BACKGROUNDS,,,, UR TWEENS,,,, EFFERVESCENT THIS IS SO COOOOOOOOOOOOL god i love this pmv so much
Honestly just watching this made me realize that "No cost too great" is justified when I see what the Pale King had to go through... Don't get me wrong, what he did to he's 30000000 children is terrible, but I have a new found sympathy for him.
When you made the first one, I had no idea that you were going to make one in colour, mainly for the fact that the storyboard was already super detailed and impressive. With this one, you just knocked it out of the park. Awesome job. Every detail from the original has been heightened tenfold!
This song really sums up the king. He thinks he's right, so he's going to do what he wants right or wrong. Even if it means abandoning his thousands of "imperfect" children, even though in the end, the hollow knight was another failed experiment.
1:54 if this was a single image as a fanart it would be one of my favourite HK fanarts, the fact that this is only one of so many great images is amazing, great job
I know I’m spectacularly late, but your work is fantastic! I got chills at the last bit, mostly because of how the song sounds like it’s yelling as well. That was AMAZING, and really represents the moral ambiguity of every single character in this game.
Damn.. This makes me love HK universe again, it's just so tragic and nice, and one of the things that I really like is Olgrim which is basically the only guard that survived, and that scene where he made statues of the others made me really damn sad..
There is something a bit satisfying about that ending, even if The Pale King is somewhat sympathetic. It still does feel right for his end to be at the hand of the spirits of those thousands of spawn he killed in pursuit of his eternal kingdom.

His face at the end really said 'go to your room, all 6 million of you'
No one actually knows what happened to the Pale King, but this is a great theory video+music video.
1:17 I love how you made isma look. It made me wish I could fight her and all the other great knights.
i imagine the hardest fights would be dryya and ze'mer. Ogrim's strength seems to rely on crowd control, so Ogrim vs the knight probably would be the easiest of the 5
@@Link9058 That's just what they WANT you to think.
@@teaartist6455 Great Knights are actually WEAK!?!?!? NEW CONFIRMED THEORY || EXPOSED (NOT A JOKE (2020(ANTI-PK)))
@@Link9058 I actually think this comment got transported from some other chain. Sorry.
But it's interesting to now read your thoughts.

3:13 "hEllo FAtheR"
The whole video is so amazing! Everything is so detailed and I love that there is a ton of movement, especially towards the end!
Btw, the Pale Kings little hands at 3:22 always make me giggle. I don’t why- they’re just, I don’t know, adorable???
Adorable dead?
*oh my actual god you did it.*
1:31 has to be my favorite image in the video. The White Lady looks so god damn innocent, god I wish I could just give the Pale King and the White Lady a hug; if I was King’s size.
3:29 at this moment he realized that he had fucked up
YOU ABSOLUTE MAD LAD YOU ACTUALLY FINISHED SOMETHING
The pale isnt an idiot, it just never worked out for him, he did all that with good intentions, he wanted to save evryone from the infection afterall
1:46 bro what i hear is "child a child a child make you listen to me"that is just perfect wth
Siblings: "So, our dad left us. Then we stabbed him 79 times in the chest."
Radiance Then: A god among the bug creatures that inhabit hallownest, with an intense desire to kill everyone
Radiance Now: *fluffy moth bitch*
Did she really want everyone to die, though? Sounds like pk just really heavily convinced the Moths to follow him and forget her.
@@Link9058 debatable
Art is hard) BUT YOU FINISHED THIS AND IT TURNED OUT SO GREAT
I always thought that The Pale King died to exposure to Void over time. I'm in love with this view.
The original storyboard was ICONIC to the HK community, it's so cool to see it colored like this! It's really amazing, well done!
“No cost too great”
*loses his kingdom to such an extent that taxes were eradicated*
Ogrim and xero: are loyal
PK: we don’t do that here
This looks sooooo good and amazing!!
*I watched the storyboard over probably 50 times, and I found it 3 days ago*
*F I N A L L Y*
I really like how you animated the Pale King's facial expressions, he has such a nice ray of emotions in this.
1:42 “oh my gaaad, A CHILD A CHILD A CHILD A CHILD” -what I always hear no matter how many times I remind myself of the lyrics
YOUR BACKGROUNDS,,,, UR TWEENS,,,, EFFERVESCENT THIS IS SO COOOOOOOOOOOOL god i love this pmv so much
This video got me originally into hollow knight and lemon demon and so i praise you for that.
Honestly just watching this made me realize that "No cost too great" is justified when I see what the Pale King had to go through...
Don't get me wrong, what he did to he's 30000000 children is terrible, but I have a new found sympathy for him.
Yeah agreed. The guy wanted to help his kingdom he hated what he did to his kids but he thought it would help his kingdom
30000000 is an understatement….
This is all very well done, and fits awesomely with the song. Impressive!
Wholey wheat I thought you were just doing the animatic-
Good flipping job this is amazing ;w;
When you made the first one, I had no idea that you were going to make one in colour, mainly for the fact that the storyboard was already super detailed and impressive. With this one, you just knocked it out of the park. Awesome job. Every detail from the original has been heightened tenfold!
"Pretty soon they'll discover me
In the Super-Sargasso Sea!"
accurate
Woah. It's like, the other one, but, better
2:30 gave me Hornet vibes
This song really sums up the king. He thinks he's right, so he's going to do what he wants right or wrong. Even if it means abandoning his thousands of "imperfect" children, even though in the end, the hollow knight was another failed experiment.
Me seeing a spider in corner of my room 00:59
1:38
they remembered the assistant who would watch over it's master no matter what
1:37 also our boi quarrel
0:56 Hegemol, my favourite knight
This is so freaking good. You're an excellent storyteller! You nailed the King's character too, imo.
0:35
Aww she's so squishy!!!
Damn.. This makes me love HK universe again, it's just so tragic and nice, and one of the things that I really like is Olgrim which is basically the only guard that survived, and that scene where he made statues of the others made me really damn sad..
You dont know perhaps hegimol survived too if hegimol isnt in The armor IT doesnt mean hes dead
Omg it looks so good!! Amazing job!
You actually did you madman you actually did it!
Lol hi
3:22 let's just remember he painted legs to the pale king
aaaaaaand subscribed, and clicked the bell. This is a masterpeice
1:42
The thought that the pale king is going “ohhh my goddddddddd” at Hera is so fucking funny
This masterpiece finally reached 1 mil.
Everyone from the Kingdom surviving up to the game has a mental fortitude of steel. Hornet, Nailsmith, Nailmasters, Ogrim, and others...
Why is no one talking about sad dung defender?

I always come back to this video
The animatic, song and story told fit together so beautifully perfectly that all I can say is: well done. Very. Well. Done
Wow it’s almost like building a castle above a chaotic substance and then preceding to attack it after giving it life is a BAD idea.
If you feel bad for the vessels, ya gotta feel bad for pale king too, he had so much stress trying to protect his kingdom.
There is something a bit satisfying about that ending, even if The Pale King is somewhat sympathetic. It still does feel right for his end to be at the hand of the spirits of those thousands of spawn he killed in pursuit of his eternal kingdom.
