2024 holy week... i am watching this. Cant imagine how lonely Jesus must hv felt when all His disciples deserted Him. Though He foresaw it, I think it must hv hurt Him still... i thought to myself if i were there, I would hv fought for Jesus not to be crucified. What a Peter i am! God knows me best, I could hv been Judas too :(( knowing Jesus yet not trusting Him. Oh God, have mercy on me.
Thank you for this monologue! Much to ponder over what Jesus had paid for our sins.

I came across this video by accident and yet it was obviously 'no accident'. I'm not going to deny, this had me in tears. The beautiful message of the last few hours of Jesus, through the eyes of 6 different people is really powerful.
I identify most with the centurion. "He looked at us - He looked at me - and He said, 'Father, forgive them. They don't know what they're doing.' He forgave me." I love that. God bless
Still find myself coming back to this every year. It’s a simple but effective way to present this section of the Gospel in a new light, and I get choked up every time. Thank you.

socksumi even the rapists, murderers, terrorists? The ones that ruin people's lives because of their greed? They don't deserve punishment? The Bible says if we break even a single commandment, we've broken them all.
We are all sinners in some way or another. We hurt people knowingly or unknowingly through out actions, speech and sometimes, even thoughts. All of us are equal in that respect.
The Bible says not one of us is good. Only He who has come in the name of our Father is. And He who is sinless bore our transgressions. He came to heal us, to forgive us for our sins, even the murderers, thieves, to give us a chance, a new life so that in forgiveness we may be given a new life. Even those who think "I'm not good enough", "I've cheated and hurt good people". Such men, like myself, find a new life in Christ, even when I thought the horrid things I've done couldn't be forgiven. He forgives and He heals. I deserved death but he gave me eternal life.
I deserved abandonment but he became my friend.
Such good news, my friend, how can we not accept?
He did it for us and no He didn’t deserve it He died for us because He loves us
I can't stop replaying this video. This video makes me think... There should be no worries, God has taken care of our wrongs. Confess and we are forgiven.

I cannot believe that a mere man could have taken the whippings that tore into the flesh the way it did Christ and then the man live to walk, carring a heavy cross as his blood continued to pore out of his body and arrive at Golgatha alive to be crucified on the cross. Truly God, truly human.

socksumi I'm not attacking you, I just want to know what your reasoning is for saying that no one deserves torture.
socksumi Do you not have a real reason? I find it important to know why we believe what we believe. If you don't know why you believe something, you can't really stand firmly for it, can you?
socksumi You didn't give me that impression at all. I wasn't sure what you believe. When I said that it's important that we know the reasons for our beliefs, I was talking about all of humanity. I realize that we as humans claim to believe different things, but I think that it is important for everyone to know why they believe what they believe.
Back to the question, why do you believe that no one deserves torture?
Why is it so disturbing to you that people believe that they deserve eternal torture?
A pastor told me once that the name Barabas means “son of father”.. it’s so interesting that he represents every “son (and daughter) of father” and that Jesus took the punishment and death in Barabas’ place as well as every one else who has ever lived.
Amazing! The Skit Guys rock! This made me cry, it feels so real, because it happened! Jesus the Messiah was condemned to death, murdered on the cross, and rose victorious 3 days later, conquering Satan, sin and death! Jesus is alive forever! Jesus willingly laid down His life so that when we believe in Him and confess Jesus as our Lord and saviour we are reconciled back into relationship with God! We hope to use this for our Good Friday sermon!

yes, He has absolute authority over all, but everyone has gone astray, each has turned to his own way, but God caused the iniquity of us ALL to fall on Jesus. Jesus, God's Son, is the ultimate sacrifice and the ultimate redemption.

By the way, I used to LOVE playing the Apostle Thomas in the Great Passion Play. I think he was misinterpreted. He didn't doubt any more than the other Apostles and then gave the most strong testimony in only 5 words after he saw the Risen Lord. And my guess is that Thomas was absent from the Lord's 1st appearance to the Apostles after the Resurrection because he may have been the only apostle who was brave enough to leave the upper room to get essentials like food and water!
we are Barabbas exactly he took our place we were the sinners and yet he took my place and your place on the cross and for that day we should be very thankful for that day.

Wow, first off, GREAT video.
I never though of Barabbas having a perspective as interpreted in this video. I always assumed he was a horrible evil person, but really we're all evil; all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. He died for all of us. He died for Barabbas. Maybe Barabbas was touched; maybe he wasn't, but God wants to save all of his children.
I agree with you, we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Just a thought: Any Jew who demonstrated strength or leadership capabilities could have been imprisoned on false charges by the Romans. Barabbas could possibly have been a follower of Jesus.

The Eucharist gets short shrift here. They pass right over the most important sacrament! But in fairness, the Apostles didn't fully understand it at the time. This is excellently done.
It's ok if you don't believe in Christ. It's ok if you disagree with our belief. That's the beauty about Jesus. He will never force you to obey, lover or believe in Him. He just loves you, He loves you in such an incomparable way. You are loved and it's ok if you don't love Him back. He just REFUSES TO STOP LOVING YOU. :)
