  • At first, you’d want to question if any dog breed can fight against wild animals. However, believe it or not, some dogs can put wild animals down. In fact, past encounters between the pair have taught some wild animals to steer clear of these dog breeds. In the past, attempts were made to breed dogs with traits such as intelligence, strength, speed, and a keen sense of smell to help herd sheep and keep flocks away from predators. The result?...breeds of dogs that evolved to do more than just that.
    I’m talking about dogs that have been bred to hunt and guard against wild animals, assist in police and military work, and on other days, make your heart melt with their silly acts. “What dog breeds could these be?” Stick around to find out.
    Hello and welcome to another episode of 4 Ever Green, and if you happen to have the dog breed listed as our number one, you’ve not only got yourself a dog that could match the lion for size but for power. Let’s dive in

Pits can also surprise an opponent, gave a pit / AUSSIE CROSSBREED TO MY KIDS FOR A COMPANION/ GUARD DOG WHEN KIDS WERE YOUNG. SHE WAS VERY QUIET AND WOULD sneak up and hit you from behind. Grew up with Rotts and German Shepherds, both great dogs although Shepherds can be excessive barkers. The narrator's correct in saying many of the breeds can handle a wolf. However, even though these fearless breeds might not back down from an aggressive full grown big cat or bear, even possibly discouraging their predatory intentions, unless there's a team of them, 1 will be a meal if the bear or cat gets serious.

    • @paulbrower3297
      @paulbrower3297 2 роки тому +3

      Those dogs have much in common with bears and Big Cats. All that keeps them from being man-eaters is their good behavior, itself a consequence of our behavior. Dogs in a pack as a predatory force as a bear or Big Cat. Eskimo dogs set loose on a polar bear can kill and (with its human companions) eat it. A large-enough pack of dogs would scare off even a tiger.

      There are feral Tibetan Mastiffs in their native region that hunt goat and other wild species. They compete with snow leopards, I saw a bunch of them cornering a giant bear in its mini-cave. A snow leopard killed one of the dogs and the others were circling and apparently scared to go in and launch a full attack. I have no doubt 5 of the dogs would have taken the cat down quickly but they were more focused on surviving than fighting. Also I agree the pack force of wild dogs or strong guardian breeds/hunting breeds definitely rival that of bears and big cats.
      As dogs are strongest when they coordinate and maul with several members, African wild dogs are the most successful predators in Africa after all. Dogs just don't outcompete big cats or bears solo because bears have too much bulk and muscular strength (plus extreme biting force) while big cats are armed with deadly claws that can disembowel, strong bites, and grappling ability to fight defensively in ways a dog cannot. That being said dogs can take down cats of smaller sizes and certainly kill wolves (many have). Of course it depends on circumstances and location too but generally that's how it goes.
      If I was to classify each species archetype, I'd say:
      cat = assassin
      dog = warrior
      bear = wrestler

That BABY tiger a second later pinned down the bull terrier with a single move and get him on the neck. The bull terrier immediately began howling and screaming like a pussy begging for his life. He is a big teddy bear with my kids and those he knows but he turns on like a light switch when he feels the energy around him is negative. He has a very high guarding instinct and he hates my neighbor (we all think he's a child predator). Ive never taught him to be aggresive but he has taken on the role of natural instict and hurds my kids away from what he feels is dangerous. I have seen him go after someone that jumped my fence running from the cops and (he was hiding in my back yard and seen him on camera so i let my maximus out). I know people will say "he's not protection trained and wont attack if needed" bullshit i know he will and my wife refuses to let me takr him to work if i work night shifts cause he loves his dad lol i know there are stronger breeds and more formidable but hands down theyre the best all around utility dogs and will stop at nothing to protect there loved ones, they give body and soul without hesitation

    I had an uncommon Male Labrador Alpha. Many people think they have one ,but don't. The Labrador is very misunderstood, they're not all easy going and I've had straight male's my whole life, but only one Alpha. He was very good around children and actually young males , but if was in an attack mode of anything or anyone considered a threat he was the most vicious dog I've ever seen. We were grouse hunting and ahead of us a bear crossed our path . My dog didn't see it but picked up it's scent and gave chase. The battle sounded like two lions and lasted for over five minutes. I had to shoot to get him thinking a bird was down. I didn't see the battle and when I looked at him there was blood , saliva and tics all over him . I didn't see any cuts in him , but later found out he got limes disease from the bear . The tracks of the bear were large. My vet saw no bite marks and said he had to be dominant over the bear and he " He's one special dog " . Alphas are definitely one of a kind and are born that way . My vet said that because he was the only male in the litter probably had a lot to do with it . He was very well disciplined , but only from surviving a battle with me. He never left the yard , but when he did he went to a daycare and jumped the fence to be with the kids. The daycare loved him , because he'd heard the kids from the fence gate and would let the kids poke him in the eye ,jump on him and use his ear for a leash, but if anyone would try to get at the kids my vet said he would kill .

They are extremely loving dogs and very friendly to people so long as their owner/ family member is with them. Every single one of these dogs are meant to protect in groups against wolves bears and the like.
      1v.1 most of these dogs would lose against a wolf.
      Why you ask? Very simple.
      A wolf kills to survive on a pretty much daily basis and knows his way around in a fight to the death.
      On the other hand "most" dogs know fighting only from playing or fights for dominance at best.

      Both run almost as fast as a horse, they could rip anyone off these dogs to shreds unless it was like 5-6, just like when I lived in Montana, 150 lbs wolves were known to kill 600 lbs bears in a pack

    We had a Rottie when my kids were growing up. I tell you he was the most fanatic dog ever! He always casually put himself between the kids and others. Always watching. Sweetest pawper ever and the best babysitter I've ever seen or had. ❣️ ❤ ❣️
    We were camping once and he chased off a bear in the middle of the night. You'd have though murder was happening...the sounds! He drug our tent a good few feet before he stopped. It was crazy! We're were up the rest of that night 😳 and he got steak for the rest of the trip! He was an awesomely good boi 😊

    I honestly feel you missed out one breed from your list, that being the Irish Wolf hound apparently coming from a even bigger mythical breed, they're one of the largest breeds and where bred as their name suggests to hunt wolves in Britain. I'd say they'd be a good addition to that list.

Sad how people really convince themselves that any dog breed would ever stand a chance against a big cat or bear dogs don’t even stand a chance against a large wolf.

    My terrier mix was growled at by the neighbors 125 pound male German Shepard who came into our yard. Our 65 pound female Kommondor pulled the turnbuckle of her heavy chain straight and took down the German Shepard in a couple seconds. Then she just kept knocking it down when it tried to run, but never bit it. The Shepard never came near our yard again. She was very friendly to any dog that didn't threaten her "flock". Loved children. Absolutely fearless. Disclaimer, unless you are a knowledgeable dog person and are willing to put in a LOT of training time, do not buy a Kommondor. They are incredibly headstrong and can be a problem if not properly trained. I've had 3 and they were all a handful. They are bred to guard and they do it well, sometimes too well. Not willing to put in the massive training/socializing time anymore so am sticking to Australian Shepards and Border Collies. Lovely, smart working dogs who will guard when they think it's appropriate.

Was a puppy champion both from itacor most other cane corso breeders in aus have itacor to thank for their breeding dogs frank and his wife are beautiful people and love all their dogs and are very particular to whom they sell their pups to which is fantastic due to the fact first time dog owners should not have one these magnificent dogs as they are more intelligent than most common people ive come across. If you want an alabai speak to alabai australia they are based outside of canberra lovely couple i purchased bahamut my current dog which i hate saying as he is my furry baby same deal consistent fun training i would say he is the smartest dog and strongest ive ever owned by this he has pulled my Mitsubishi triton with 265/ 40 22 tread right round fully loaded with plumbing gear and 100l gas tank in the back with ease

    There are some native mastiff breeds in IRAN that you can look for. Sarabi Mastiff, Kurdish Mastiff, Ghahderijani dog and Sangsari dog. Both the Sarabi and Kurdish are generally larger than Kangals and Tibetans. They reach 100 cm/kg in many cases. The Sangsari dog is the most unknown and underrated Iranian breed, they're the best hiking companion and long distance walks (10+ km) are nothing for them. The Alabai and Caucasian Shepherd have also originated from Iran.
