- In this video we will walk you through step-by-step everything you need to do to create a sisal rope cat scratch post right in your own home. This DIY project is great for any cat lover that is looking to create an outlet for scratching feline claws. Follow along with this easy tutorial that is a fun do-it-yourself cat tower tree for helping your pet cat maintain their claws.
Supplies used for this project:
2 - 2x4 boards, cut to 3' lengths
(or use 1 4x4 board cut to 3' length) for the upright post
1 - 1/2" plywood for 18"x18" base
1 - wood post cap, or small wood scrap for top perch
50' of 1/2" sisal rope
Screws, 3" length
Glue gun and glue sticks
18x18" square of carpet
Carpet tape
Drill & bits
Saw
Sandpaper
Measuring tape
Pencil
Nice show, try starting at the bottom with a clove hitch and finish with French spiral hitching, this hitch tightenes up as you progress, my cat scratcher is 60" as they are huge cats ❤

need update. did that hot glue gun hold up? My guess is no. After a week im sure that rope was coming off. id suggest gorilla glue or heavy-duty glue.
I used hot glue and it's more than enough. It's very strong
