Final Fantasy IV - The After Years (PSP): Lost Babil

- This is the PSP version exclusive super boss.
A grandiose looking fight for sure, but not really that difficult.
The worst part by far is having to level 15 characters to around level 55.
First part is the chest and a hand, it's probably the worst part. Lot of nasty abilities. I would put your second strongest party on this part.
Second part is the head, chest, and yet another hand. If you kill the hand first it casts Reraise on itself, so kill the head first.
It can summon weak normal monsters, kill them when they get summoned. Your weakest party should be on this one.
Final part is the CPU and a bunch of nodes. Unlike CPU in the Depths, you should kill all of the nodes on this fight. Once all of the nodes are dead, CPU will heal itself for significant amounts of damage every turn. Due to this, put your strongest party on it, so you can overwhelm it with damage.
Never played this version but I love the spell effects
FF4 trully had the best summon and spell animations
''Lost Babil'' a nice name to spell.
Only the normal boss music :(? For such an epic fight it should have had at least the 4 lords theme
Even Zeromus EG used the final boss theme
FF4 is so epic that it only needs 4 people to bring down a certain giant the size of this one :]
such a strong Superboss! yet it's Design is so cool
exactly! for me the superbosses is really all about the glory. the rewards shouldn't matter.
just for fun of course! the square enix love to see games suffer in the hand of their super bosses
@monsterhunter110 True, but you got to admit, it's pretty insulting going through all that training and effort for a crap reward, even if it IS for challenge's sake.
Also, what a spoony bard.
note how the phase system in this boss is alot like the final boss in final fantasy 6...
What confuses me... is the boss having attacks. First time I fought it, barely had some characters to 40, and didn't give me really any trobule. I guess Edward being dead could be consider trouble.
They need to bring this to the Switch. Surprised they haven't already with all the other Final Fantasy's on the Switch.
Also im pretty sure that the silver apple and soma drop thing is for maxing health and mana
11:52 boom self -destruct shot XD
2:02 this animation reminds me to super Mario RPG blizzard 🧙♂️❄️
Cid over there looking like f'in Megaman lol
i so love this fight!and seriously people you fight superbosses for a challenge not a super freakin awesome rewards!
Not wholly. For a superboss, it requires very little planning; if you spread 6 or so members at 60ish around the 3 parties, you'll probably experience very little difficulty.
It was a huge let-down. I thought it was going to be a crazy level-all-to-99, fight-for-your-life superboss (a'la Devil Survivor's Lucifer, for instance) and yet you'd be lucky to need a full party of 50s. I got away with about 7 or 8 60s spread over the 3 parties, and had absolutely no difficulties whatsoever.
@Kira1Lawliet training?all of my characters were that level when i got to the creator thanks to the challenge dungeons and the bosses
From what I found on the internet, the left arm has 50,505 HP
And the head in phase 2 ?
@@adam622500 not crazy too much hp pool unlike final fantasy 5 is far worse hardest boss, hp pool around 100,000
3 Silver Apples and 2 Soma Drops? Really that's all? Where is the freaking Megalixers?
Having more life and mp is fair enough ;)
And they are farmable ^^
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Golbez a boss of one of the final fantasies?
Inujosha you aren't he was the villain of 4
Emmet O'kane I thought the Villain 4 was Scarmiglione, Cagnazzo, Barbariccia and Rubicante and Golbez was their boss?
Gavin Tan golbez was controlled by Zemus the semi final boss. Then comes Zeromus the hatred that was growing at Zemus. Zemus was harder than this super boss seriously
Seeing Bahamut deal 9999 7x over was a joy to see. Also it looks like bands aren't as strong as they are in the mobile version where they deal 20000+ damage by endgame!
@ChrisTheBest1992 Better than an Omega Badge, I suppose, but you're right.
17:42 Me : Its Final Fantasy band time 😂😂😂
why do i find it fitting that the fight was ended by the hallowed father himself?
your reward is leveling up.
The first phase is 1.2 Million exp
Second phase is 1.8 million
Third only 800000 they forgot 2 million i think 😂😂
0:53 My teams were almost the same but I put Ursula on Ceodore team, keep the twins in the same team and use Leonora with Dualcast in the second team ;)
Square enix really love the giant of babil ;). He is the superboss of the dsremake and now we have what the fight should be in ff4 ;)
1.8mill exp on the second part 0.0
what does black hole do?
Dispels all status effects in your party
Disappears all status increased in your party
Am I just overleveled? I'm not even close to finishing and my party is way higher leveled than this just from playing through the regular game.
If you did the challenge dungeons like me ( and i stop after getting the adamantite ) you began the gathering with a level 30-50 characters ;)
@gigawarman12
The first fight is just a tank-and-spank, and you just need a party of sturdy members. The second would warrant a good non-elemental all-attacking Band, or alternatively Rydia and/or Palom (Meteor). The last fight is pretty much the same-- black mage haven. Open it with Meteor (or alternatively again, Bahamut) and continue hard-hitting casts like Flare and Holy.
60 was overkill, but I imagine 50 wouldn't be pushing it...
Honestly, it mig
Uhh... did you get cut off?

what does black hole do?
If i'm right it remove all good status ailment that you have cast such as Haste, Shell etc...
Black Hole nullifies all good magic effects.
It also can remove Slow and Sap
.......
@BlackAceRedJoker5 it debuffs you not silences the user that would be suicide!
lol not even gold apples...
@nawhz No, the original FF4 used it first...
Damn. What a cheap ass boss.
what did you expect from super boss except some shitty key item that tells you "CONGRATULATION FOR BEATING [name of the boss]", and it almost happen on ALL final fantasy series.
What?
the superbosses always have shit as rewards.....
This boss doesn't even look that hard... I mean sure it has to be with three parties but all of the three parts don't seem that challenging with parties that have characters at least higher than level 50.
Why does Square Enix put so many superbossess post-game nowadays? What's the point in that? It's confusing!
Typical from Super Bosess. The rewards are simply trash.
Omega is harder :)
Oh stfu(No offense)Dont remind of that fucking metal robotic bastard
LOL!!! This is the new face of Golbez on PSP!!! ROTF!!!
He look so feminine since the real FF IV on SNES!!!
Weedopia I think that because the character was largely inspired by Darth Vader, the design team decided to loosely base his sans armor form off Anakin Skywalker from the prequels.
