Slide valves have an O ring which sounds like it’s failing or has some crap in it. Undo the four nuts and clean/replace or better still replace the whole lot with a ball valve (not cheap). BTW just subscribed 👍
Ar bin ya ar kid, kh is buffered with bicarb and ideally 6 would be bang on . Gh i dont bother with if im honest , not many people who i know do . On the slide valve you have a nut on the shaft to tighten the machanism if you know what i mean, just loosen it off a bit and should be easier.
