Can you do a vid on understeer vs oversteer fwd vs rwd vs awd myself and the viewers may know this but I feel it'll be good for you algorithmically. Another thing is maybe taking the drift car to a drag strip vs a muscle car. That'll do great for views.
100%! Normally if your competing or following in a decent tandem, your visibility is low as it is, so this just kinda trains you to see with minimal visibility.
If you can't read backwards, one of the stickers actually says "I can't see shit" He doesn't have any side windows so I think that tells you everything you need to know here
I think some of these are great tips not just for drifting but driving on general. It's not just on the track that you should be calm and relaxed. Oh and drive the correct direction 😂😂
Hey Haugen thanks for the tips i can't drift because i don't have a license, and because of my age but i can do sim drifting and i got a new high end steering wheel with 1080 degrees of rotation on both sides with force feedback, i got used to letting the wheel spin threw my hands, and not relying on the handbrake and getting used to clutch kick entries, instead i used the handbrake for getting more angle
what do you use for suspension? I'm looking to get some suspension setup for a street legal drifter hopefully and I'm kind of overwhelmed by the choices, I'm definitely on a budget so i was thinking of going with adjustable koni or bilstein and buying a coil over conversion, but as a pro I'm was wondering what your take was on it
In Australia we call #2 "Rattlas", because of an incident that happened at a big event quite a few years ago now. A driver span out on a fast part of the track on the apex of a corner, and proceeded to smoke up whilst standing completely still for entirely too long. Two other cars had already been released up the hill and were entering a ways back so they hadn't seen the spin, and could only see smoke. They entered at full speed figuring the smoke was just normal left over from a previous driver's lap and ran straight into the other car sitting on the apex, completely writing off at least one car and severely injuring another driver. The car that did the burnout was from Rattla motorsport, hence we started calling them "Rattlas". So in short, doing burnouts on track after spinning isn't just bad for the track, it's very dangerous for driver's behind you, especially if they are inexperienced or still learning.
Just came back to re watch this. Love the channel. Would love to see more drift tip videos. I’m currently building a 91 240sx coupe for drift I’m about to drop an sr20 in and keep it lower power for learning.
I want to start drifting and i have found a couple 240 that i can afford and i am thibking about coilovers turbo kit, seats, short throw shifter, antiroll bar do you think that would be a good starter drift car i have never drove a drift car but i am 14 and i drive a polaris rzr 800 4 seater and i drift it on asphalt and and i can do good drifts around roundabouts and i can link turns but it is kinda sketchy because it is a offroad vehicle and it leans a lot
Instead of letting of of the steering wheel when counter steering. I prefer to wheel trace, that helps me keep track of the motion of the car when it is drifting through transitions.
@haugen racing im buying my first drift car importation cost on something used is terrible so im buying a salvage bmw e9x with front end damage and doing the basics and keeping stock angle until i can learn the chassis and building it to be a racecar in the near future any advice is greatly appreciated

Rear, preferably you don't want any camber just for easier control and even wear on the tres. Get as close to 0 as you can get. For the fronts moderate camber is fine as long as you adjust your angle, Ackerman, caster, toe, etc to match.
You forgot to mention “don’t cover your windshield with stickers, so you can’t see shit”, lol j/k. Good video and reminders for some clueless people out there 👍
I drift a 1500 dollar sc300 with a donated 302 and rob tires from behind car dealers and body shops the most expensive part is drivers entry tickets. You can be damn near unemployed and still slide at the track a few times a year.
You rock dude keep up the good work, but on a side note. How the heck can you see well enough to drift with that many freakin stickers on your windshield?!? I mean props or being able to drift like that but jeez, you might tone it down a lil at least on the driver side lol.
Currently going thru a rejection I gave the girl my all but this makes me forget about it and laugh... So thank you for your uploads they help me get better with drifting and life in general
