      As a classic mini owner I came across this channel which seemed very informative, unfortunately completely ruined by the terrible and not needed music which drove me to abandon the channel after 10 minutes!

    Caught this by accident. I use to weld/refurb classic cars many years ago. De-seaming a mini was my nightmare job . And was glad to see the end of the job . But the car was beautiful when it was all up together. And all that had a hand in it were proud. . Keep up the great work bud 👍

    It's been a great pleasure to see an expert sheet metal worker at his craft. A pleasure also to see your painstaking attention to detail to get things just right without resorting to body filler. I remember watching the fully painted new Mini van and Pick up bodies arriving at Longbridge by lorry from Fisher and Ludlow's factory at Castle Bromwich in the 1970's. It was a common sight to see three or four lorries standing on the Bristol Road waiting to unload. Most of the bodies were painted blue or grey. Willow green is a lovely but more unusual colour. I look forward to the next instalment.

    I have a 1967 Mini Traveler steelside - that is the station wagon ordered with the "delete wood trim" option selected. That was common here in Canada due to winter upkeep issues, while the upgraded heater (3.5 kw?) was also commonly selected. They both show up on my Heritage Certificate. Vans were very uncommon here, while the Parks Department here in Toronto ran several white pickups.

    I had an one of these back in the mid nineties, an ex MOD. virtually rust free, unlike yours. The bloke I sold it to had nothing better to do than cut out the grill, add flares fit a loud exhaust and tint the windows. What a sorry sight it bekame .

    Paul, did I miss the story of why anybody would spend, probably twice as much as the vehicle is worth, on a mini van? 😱

      No, I never told that story because he has not spent as much as it's worth, but even if he did it's none of anybody else's business

    A proper tinny at work, superb, luv the little tips, especially about wrapping the flange around the door 👍. How did you weld the rear quater on, butt weld or lap joint?

    • @PWCV-YT
      @PWCV-YT  4 місяці тому +1

      The quarters are butt welded. Unfortunately the video footage of that process didn't come out so couldn't include it
