I was listening to another youtuber claim that Orion Telescopes shut down. The comments section was flooded with very kind words to say about a guy named Ken. Former employees and former customer alike all talked about how Ken helped them and how he was a great guy to work with. One guy said he was troubleshooting a problem then called back later and he recognized the voice. It was Ken! I had to look up this Ken guy and what'ya know I recognize him from some previous Orion videos I've seen years ago that I thought were amazingly helpful. I wish you the best Orion Team and Ken!

I'm curious what's happening over at orion, haven't seen a new video is a while but the websites store is very scarce as far as what there selling, wonder why that's the case?

Hi Ken, I just received my Orion Starblast 62mm, and I purchased the Orion Tritech 2 field tripod. I'm thinking I may have chose the wrong tripod. 🤔
why are discontinued so many greart scope. like ed 80, mak newt, star blast 114. realy good stuff that more or less everyone love for so logn. it dont make sense to have to great stuff for so long and than get rid of it.

Good question. I have wondered the same thing regarding the Altair Astro 70mm f/5 Quad, which looks very similar to this one.

I just purchased a 8” Newtonian from Orion, having major issues with back focus, manual says 83.2mm, doesn’t work. I also picked up the coma corrector, there’s just no way I can find focus with that using my ZWO533…..any ideas?

Is t this just the Meade rebranded now
i dont know if the meade have same rail to avoid slip in the focuser, but optic is not the same. meade was fpl-53, this is fc-100
Yes, but in the newer construction. It is identical to the TS flatfield 70 mm f5 (TSAPO71Q) which I had at one time. Flat field with APS-C out of the box. Skyrover had the same scope and william optics use the same CNC parts, if you look closely. The redcat 71 is this with a few embellishments.
