Wagner, at his most uncharacteristic... concise, characters in ensemble singing...and giving us one of the most sublime moments in all of opera.

I think this quintet is the most impressive part of this opera. The famous final trio in Der Rosenkavalier seems to be influenced from this sequence.
Same was the rheintöchter trio and the nymph trios in Rheingold and Ariadne auf Naxos, in my opinion.
This is the only production where you really get why Eva and Walter are falling for each other. He looks dashing and she is just gorgeous.
